Ep # 126 Lessons from Gethsemane
from Rooted in the Word Hosted by High Forest Community Church
We had some slight audio issues during the recording, but they certainly do not detract from the powerful message brought to us today by Jim Barnhart. As we continue our walk with Jesus, we enter one of the most troubling and agonizing moments leading up to the cross: the Garden of Gethsemane. Here, the disciples seem unaware of the gravity of what is unfolding around them. While they struggle to stay awake, Jesus falls before the Father in prayer, pouring out His anguish as He prepares to face what lies ahead. But Gethsemane is more than a glimpse into the suffering of Jesus. It also reveals some important truths about our own prayer lives. What hinders us from truly coming before God? What keeps us from honestly facing our sin? And what can we learn from the way Jesus prayed when the weight before Him seemed unbearable? Today, Jim takes us into the garden as we discover some powerful “Lessons from Gethsemane.” High Forest Community Church www.highforestchurch.com Recorded: 8/30/26 For more information on how you can be certain of having eternal life, please contact us at [email protected] Our other links: Facebook: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552868390256&mibextid=JRoKGi YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@highforestcommunitychurch Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5l3baJZMvOJLYutaMDoVnv Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hfcc-christ-centered-hope-for-todays-world/id1753425592?i=1000673790907 Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/HighForestChurch We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota. Our building was originally constructed in 1861 and is the oldest protestant church building in continuous use in our county. Many people have come and gone throughout the generations, but our goal will always remain: To Serve Jesus only, and learn from His Living Word, the Scriptures. Our small church body are all admittedly sinners, that openly strive to improve our walk daily, but also understand that we are Redeemed by the shed blood of Christ Jesus and declared innocent in God’s eyes due to Grace Alone! There is no act of baptism, charity or observation of communion that deems us worthy. No amount of following the law of Moses, or the ever-popular observation of legalism in many churches today that will save us. That is us believing in ourselves, rather than what Christ did for us completely. If you struggle with understanding the concept of salvation or are plagued by false teachings of following traditions rather than Christ alone, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to help! Please watch our archive of messages on a variety of topics. Please like and share our content with others that can benefit from what God has inspired our array of speakers to bring to the body. Most importantly, be sure you are secure in your relationship with God and Christ Jesus. It is so simple. Do not wait.
