Ep # 128 When God Says "No!"
from Rooted in the Word · host High Forest Community Church
“No.” It is one of the first words we learn to dislike as children, and reaching adulthood doesn’t make it any easier to hear. We make plans. We pray. We ask. We hope. And sometimes, God’s answer is simply… “No.” Today, Pastor John Grams takes us to Deuteronomy 3:23–28 and one of the most striking moments in the life of Moses. After 120 years of life and decades of faithfully leading the people of Israel, Moses makes what seems like a simple request: he wants to cross the Jordan and see the Promised Land. But God tells him no. Why does God sometimes deny the things we desperately want, even when we bring those desires to Him in prayer? How should we respond when His answer isn’t the one we hoped for? And could God’s “No” actually be leading us toward something we cannot yet see? Through the example of Moses, Pastor John shows us how to respond biblically when God closes a door, changes our plans, or refuses a request. And as the message reaches its surprising conclusion, we discover that God’s “No” may not be the end of the story at all. Be encouraged today as we learn what it means to trust Him… even “When God Says No!” High Forest Community Church www.highforestchurch.com Recorded: 9/13/26 For more information on how you can be certain of having eternal life, please contact us at [email protected] Our other links: Facebook: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552868390256&mibextid=JRoKGi YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@highforestcommunitychurch Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5l3baJZMvOJLYutaMDoVnv Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hfcc-christ-centered-hope-for-todays-world/id1753425592?i=1000673790907 Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/HighForestChurch We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota. Our building was originally constructed in 1861 and is the oldest protestant church building in continuous use in our county. Many people have come and gone throughout the generations, but our goal will always remain: To Serve Jesus only, and learn from His Living Word, the Scriptures. Our small church body are all admittedly sinners, that openly strive to improve our walk daily, but also understand that we are Redeemed by the shed blood of Christ Jesus and declared innocent in God’s eyes due to Grace Alone! There is no act of baptism, charity or observation of communion that deems us worthy. No amount of following the law of Moses, or the ever-popular observation of legalism in many churches today that will save us. That is us believing in ourselves, rather than what Christ did for us completely. If you struggle with understanding the concept of salvation or are plagued by false teachings of following traditions rather than Christ alone, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to help! Please watch our archive of messages on a variety of topics. Please like and share our content with others that can benefit from what God has inspired our array of speakers to bring to the body. Most importantly, be sure you are secure in your relationship with God and Christ Jesus. It is so simple. Do not wait.
