Government had changed OPS (Old pension scheme) with NPS (National pension scheme) for central govt. employee in the year 2005. Few years later it was also opened for all Indian citizens including NRIs. However reports are coming that other than Govt. employee (for whom the scheme is mandatory) others has shown very less interest in enrolling for NPS.
