Brian d'Arcy James is a actor known for his work across film, television, and the stage. He most recently starred as THE BAKER in the star-studded Broadway revival of INTO THE WOODS, which he received a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.  James also recently starred in the Mubi drama film THE CATHEDRAL, where he earned a Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Supporting Performance. This marks the first nomination he has received for an individual performance in a film. His upcoming 2023 projects include the David Yates directed “Pain Hustlers,” opposite Emily Blunt and Chris Evans for Netflix, the crime pic “Where All Light Tends to Go,” directed by Ben Young, with Billy Bob Thornton, Robin Wright and Jackie Earle Haley, the Rebecca Miller dramedy “She Came to Me” opposite Anne Hathaway, Peter Dinklage and Marisa Tomei, the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Dear Edward” from Jason Katims and the HBO Max’s Candy Montgomery miniseries “Love and Death” with Elizabeth Olsen, produced by Nicole Kidman and David E. Kelley. Prior stage credits include HAMILTON, THE FERRYMAN, SHREK THE MUSICAL, SOMETHING ROTTEN!, and MACBETH. James' past film credits include the Oscar-winning film “West Side Story,” from Steven Spielberg, “The Kitchen” opposite Melissa McCarthy, the Damien Chazelle directed “First Man,” opposite Ryan Gosling,” the Simon Kinberg directed, X-Men: Dark Phoenix,” Aaron Sorkin’s “Molly’s Game,” opposite Idris Elba and Jessica Chastain, and the Danny Strong directed JD Salinger biopic “Rebel and The Rye,” starring Nicholas Hoult. Other television credits include “Evil,” Marvel’s “Hawkeye,” “The Comey Rule,” “13 Reasons Why.” “Manhunt: Unibomber,” “The Big C,” and “Smash.” Brian d'Arcy James has received three Tony nominations for his Broadway work in Sweet Smell of Success, Shrek the Musical and Something Rotten!. He has also received two Grammy Award nominations for Best Musical Theater Album. James is the recipient of a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Critics' Choice Award and the Robert Altman Award at the Independent Spirit Awards - all for his work in the Oscar-winning film Spotlight.
