An urban legend turns into a terrifying reality that's happening to this day. And let me take a look at the story of a young man who has a terrifying yet confusing nightmare. He can't quite make sense of it. But when the world of slumber collides with reality, everyone's left wondering, what in the world is going on?

Blitz, I'm going to go ahead and get the party started. Let's toss you... What the hell should we use. Let's go ahead and talk.

Everyone climb on board and Blitz and Neo drives us out of Dead Radbit Radio, command all the way out to Texas we're driving out there now as what's new I was driving I turn turning you and I go hey so this first story is pretty intense right it's it's pretty I don't really know else I was the kind of coach it um it involves the cats and wow I love cats he said oh yeah you're like I love cats I love musical cats I love cats rubbing up against me I even love the diseases that cats give me and make me go insane yeah I love cats I'm a cat person myself dogs I'm starting to realize right dogs are not all right people are gonna get mad when I say this but I've realized like dogs if a human acted the way a dog did everyone would hate them everyone would hate them the other day I was walking a dog jumped out from behind a bush and started barking and luckily I had my flashlight slash baseball bat which is an actual product you can buy and I didn't hit the dog or anyone can please hope about the show notes where I did actually have to fight a dog to save a man's life now that and have in the other day this dog jumped out it's like six in the morning or whatever this dog comes out from behind the bush started barking and dancing on me and it scared me so I went ah and then I go get back get back in the dog round away also this flashlight is pretty cool because it has a strobe of feature so I've had to use it on dogs before it's very disorienting this warranty on humans as well but they can just lightly turn their head away but a dog they're like oh and I thought I hate it when dogs I hate the owners who let their dogs just kind of run around without keeping them in the backyard or keeping them on a leash because I walk everywhere that's a constant threat of dogs I have to be aware of dogs and I thought I'm so mad that some owner let their dog out but I thought if I was walking on the street in a man jump down from behind English and started yelling at me that's rude that's so rude why do we let dogs do that why do we let dogs do that it's really nothing you can do I mean it's the owner's fault that the dog out got out but I was like that's so rude I mentioned it every time you walk by a house there was three or four people in the backyard and go hey what are you doing here why are you walking on the corner too close too close too close to close you'd be like wow the people who live there are super rude and you tell other people in the neighborhood like I'm walking to work today some guys there's like three dudes in the backyard yelling at me until I left their field of view until they can no longer smell me and then they went back to pretending nothing ever happened but dogs do that all the time I walk by houses oh yeah and I'm always nice to them I mean I'm carrying a baseball bat like I know you're being nice because I go hey puppies how's it going oh yeah it's so fun is there barking the only thing separating them from ripping my flesh off is about I don't know an inch and a half of plywood someone picked up at Home Depot during the Labor Day sale they just quickly assembled fences I can clearly see the dogs are trying to dig under the fence I see that I don't know what these people think eventually these dogs are gonna get out and no one's gonna have a good day I'm not gonna have a good day the dogs are gonna have a good day I'll tell you this if I somehow survive the three on one human vs. dogs fight I know where you live okay I know where those dogs came from I will come and knock on your door and now you are not gonna have a good day but other than all of that I wouldn't consider myself a dog person but I do like dogs I think they're cool but I'm more of a cat person and you go Jason if a human acted like a cat if they roamed your neighbor stealing your food and being everywhere then wouldn't that be rude well let's not let's quit describing animals with human behaviors let's take a look at this story but if you have to save you're an animal lover and a cat lover specifically is gonna be a hard segment for you because I was typing it up and I was all I love cats but this one's a rough one we're headed all the way out to Texas to take a look at this urban legend it was posted online recently and let's go ahead and call the person who posted a Tory we don't have a real name but Tory grew up in Texas and when she was a little kid she'd always heard this story about the catnapper like oh he knaps with cats that's adorable you have a calendar of his uh nope we don't and I don't mean that type of nap kidnapping that type of napping when Tory was a little kid she often heard a story that there was a man in the neighborhood who would drive around town in a truck that was full of cages and he would set him out and he would bait him and he would catch stray cats in the neighborhood and he was doing this so often that people assumed he worked for the city or the county they assumed that he worked for the local pound and he was trying to control the feral cat straight cat population so no one really thought anything of it but one day whether it was a curious kid poking their head over a fence or a concerned neighbor hearing odd noises coming from the backyard we're not sure but eventually it was discovered that this man was taking the cats home and killing them in very very disgusting ways the man ended up getting arrested for this her animal abuse murdering scores of these things very brutally was sent to prison now Tory she posted this online underneath the name she was raised by wolves which is interesting about cats but anyways she's like all that wasted food I could have gobbled up so many other straight cats she goes I heard this story when I was a kid that it was happening in my town she didn't really question it you know you just hear a story like that you're like wow that's horrific and when she's in high school she starts talking about the story just comes up one day they're eating the cafeteria food and some guys like oh man this stuff looks like cat food this is disgusting and she's oh yes this is this is a great topic this is a nice way speaking of cats did you guys know that in my hometown there was a man who was brutally murdering cats in his backyard and she told the story and one of her friends goes oh dude I totally remember that I heard that story too so she starts meeting people in high school she starts a club the gap master club she's like guys let's figure this out she talks to people in high school and they've all heard the same story in that same town that at one point there was a catnapper who was brutally killing stray cats but they can never find any more info on it they can never find like a news article they can never find anyone who witnessed it which he fair probably wouldn't want to bring it back up horrific they can never find any info on it so is it an urban legend she said she asked about it on reddit at one point she goes hey does anyone have any information about this Texas cat killer and she told the story that I just told you and people began to respond to going that's from a book that's actually like a anecdote from a book or a psychological thing you could flesh out a whole novel like that but it's from a book and she goes really okay well this is kind of interesting because at a certain point you do start to think it's an urban legend when you can find no proof of it so she goes what book and the person responds I don't remember okay and apparently more than one person said that it's from a book but when pressed on what the name of the book was no one could remember what the actual book is that has this scene in it and she keeps asking about this because now it's even we're to write local urban legends they happen I always find them super fascinating but now when you're using the internet and other people recognize the story they think it has a different origin now it's even more puzzling and to add another layer onto that other people on reddit started going I do know that story it's not from a book it actually happened in my hometown so she's hearing that now this story is being repeated over and over now I left out the way he was murdering these cats just because I thought it was so horrific but now I think I kind of have to add it in because just having the story of a man walking around murdering cats is horrific as that is the key detail that people thought was from the book and the key detail that people thought had happened in their hometown it wasn't just some lunatic catching cats and killing them in his backyard get ready fast forward cat lovers of the world he was running over them with a lawn mower so that is such a horrific visual obviously that is such a terrible detail that I'm sure there are cities that have had lunatics in the past walking around killing cats but all of these people remember the ones who heard it in a book or say they heard it in a book and the ones who said they heard it in their hometown Tori's friends at high school the key detail was wasn't just a guy collecting cats and killing them he was running over them with a lawn mower in his backyard and you go just and weren't they running around but don't make me give more details than that okay it's just horrific it's really creepy don't make me keep describing it but he ran over the lawn mower because I know it's true crime I know that I shouldn't hedge away from some of the darker details but you know sometimes it's just too too gross but that was the key detail he's running over with a lawn mower and I found this story online and I thought it's really interesting not so much that you have the urban legend which I do find urban legends super fascinating because they're so localized if you live 30 miles in either direction you'll never hear the story that has captivated a town you could grow up in a town and everyone knows the story but you live outside of the geographical range you never hear about the candy witch so I looked at that story ago that's interesting it's dark it's terrifying and I had it prepped and ready to go and then I get an Instagram message from a longtime listener of the show Johnny the Mingas and Johnny didn't know I was researching talking about killing cats he didn't know I was looking into the story at all let's leave behind Texas we're headed out to San Pedro California it's June 2024 people in these local community apps in San Pedro California whether it be Facebook or whatever they're using to talk to each other they start warning residents of San Pedro saying hey I saw something horrible today I saw a dead cat with a crossbow bolt through it so it's not like a dog got it it's not like it accidentally fell out of a tree or anything someone shot this with a crossbow and other people start responding going that's insane because I saw a dead cat in a different part of town with a crossbow bolt through it what okay so it wasn't accidental someone's hunting these cats and more and more of these community reports are popping up and people start to make a connection between the dead cats the murdered cats and nearby very often nearby there was a painted double cross it was a red cross that had two bars on the top it's a old old time he crossed a couple different denominations have used them over the centuries so now you're thinking it's a ritual do we have St. worshippers in San Pedro California are they sacrificing these animals what's going on what's with this weird symbol that's appearing near these dead cats and more residents are talking in these community apps they're going my cat came home last night with a crossbow bolt in it luckily it survived but this guy is actively hunting cats not just strays like that would be bad enough but he's shooting anything that's feline so the news the local news station starts covering this and this story gets so weird and this is not an urban legend it would feel like an urban legend at first right people are thinking he would be shooting cat for the crossbow or what's going on here you think oh you know maybe it's a mistake maybe they're hyping something up or whatever no local news gets involved fox LA calm there's a couple stories on this and what's interesting is everyone in the neighborhood figures out very quickly who the cat killer is but news articles on him are very reluctant to say his name which I thought was weird I had to watch a couple videos and read a couple articles I was finding Instagram posts that were dox seen him which I can't put in the show notes because it's a dox because they give not only his full name they give his address and his phone number and all of that that's how I found out who it was and then finally I found a video where they actually set his name so the media did put it out there at a certain point but for a while it was interesting to have this guy who everyone in town is saying this guy's killing cats and they're trying to expose him and if you look at the Reddit's because people were talking about this on the San Pedro subreddit if you said his name in the subreddit the post got deleted if you put that in the main post everything got deleted you could not post his name on Reddit the comments are getting deleted so you go Jason you know that kind of makes sense right it's he hasn't been convicted of a crime it's hearsay like everyone in town could think that someone's hunting cats with a crossbow but you know he's a private citizen you can't pass his name across the internet and that's all fair right I do understand that you can't accuse private people without really any proof of it he has gone on video he has been interviewed by the local news station where while he has not come out and said yes I am roaming around the city killing cats with a crossbow and painting this odd double-barred cross everywhere this man he's a 70 year old retiree going by the name Roger Montague while he specifically denies hunting cats he appears on television wearing a giant wooden cross with a double bar on it then he has like a wicker hat and then another cross attached to that hat and he's like I don't know what all these neighbors are talking about the symbols that I wear on my body mysteriously appearing around dead cats I don't know what that's all about now they're just they're just the worry words they're just making stuff up and he's also like so funny because you'll cut back and forth between these people going yeah it's crazy he walks around town throwing garlic at people and throwing garlic over the fence and if dogs eat garlic it makes them really sick we think he's trying to poison the dogs so they ask him the reporter goes are you throwing garlic at people or are you throwing garlic at the people's yards and he goes oh yeah I'm totally doing that they're like why are you throwing garlic and he goes it protects them from evil demons it protects them from disease I'm trying to help out throwing garlic everywhere people who have talked to him he did not admit this on camera but people who talked to him because everyone in town knows that this is him and they've confronted him one person asks why are you killing the cats and he said because I eat them allegedly that's what this witness said that he eats them as he's wiping away a little bit fur oh yeah yeah allegedly I eat cats another person asked them why he's killing the cats and he goes because they're demons the cats are actually demons and I'm cleaning up the streets of San Pedro by killing them I'm doing everyone a favor I don't know why everyone's freaking out by this the same witness says he seems to think he's a member of the Knights Templar he's doing this grand service for the community one woman said that she feeds straight cats she's known in the area for doing that and one day she was outside as you heard a okay you know that noise is a crossbow crossbow fired in this bolt flew by her and missed she's like okay there's only one person in town I know who makes cats and owns a crossbow so she didn't see him do it but she goes this guy tried shooting me with his crossbow bolt now the people in town have gone to the police and they said listen there's this guy he's walking around shooting cats with crossbows this woman raised a hand in the back she's like he tried shooting me too so I shoot him with a crossbow bolt people are complaining about this they go we've confronted him and he's talking about eating them he's talking about thinking they're demons he keeps them garlic everywhere and the police have said well is any of this caught on video do you have any proof that he did any of this and everyone's kind of like around they're like no we don't and cops go we can't do anything and the woman who had the cross bow bolt miss miss her she goes what about me he actually assaulted me and the police go do you have that on video she's like no oh and the cops are we can't do anything and people are like what are you talking about people get arrested all the time not on video tons of murders get solved there's no video cameras around just average assaults sexual assaults car accidents like all time what you're talking about you can totally investigate crime if there's no video are you telling me the police did zero work until 1980 no go do your job Sherlock please go we can't do anything until we have it on video or people okay or you catch him in the act you have to see him pull the trigger on the crossbow you have to see the bolt go into the cat and then him run away or maybe he stands there in gloats we don't know but then we can go arrest him but otherwise it's just random crossbow bolts flying around a man wearing a mysterious symbol around his neck that appears the sightings of all these murders and he will admit on camera that he throws garlic at people like get to your restaurant for that get to your restaurant for the garlic they're like no we can't arrest him for the garlic even though he admitted to it now you have one person online said listen he's been doing this for four years like I'm surprised it took this long for people to notice he's been doing this for four years and they can't the police are saying we're not gonna do anything about it until you actually catch him in the act which is not true of literally any other crime ever some people online have said that he's an ex-police officer I wasn't able to find any proof of that in one of the photos in the docs the photo where they're doxing him he was wearing like a sweater that had a fireman's seal on it it showed like a fire department in the county and all that stuff on there but I can't doxing I can't actually put out his email address in his address in his phone number I can't link to that but one person said he's been up to it for four years another person said one person said though he's been doing this for four years now cops are like we can't do anything unless you catch him in the act well that might change because what happened recently what happened around June 24th one of the residents of St. Pedro was sitting in his yard and all of a sudden this piece of garlic comes flying over his fence and hits him dude's like what are we getting hit with gold I'm not going to even ask this question I know why garlic is flying through my neighborhood and apparently he confronted Roger and allegedly Roger then beat him over the head and on this news video they showed a guy with like this wound he was like staples staples in his head thanks a lot to get your head stapled shut and he goes the guy attacked me he threw garlic at me and then he beat me over the head like how can you investigate it now now do you need that on video I came out of the emergency room with staples in my brain is that enough and the cops apparently have said share yeah fine we'll investigate this cat murderer fine we'll investigate this guy who's mysterious symbol is appearing all over the place that attack he did get arrested and it says he has a court date on July 17th 2024 so that has already passed I can't find any record of that so maybe they just dropped the charges that's the only thing that I could really think of people are still posting like hey we need to take care of this this guy's a menace to society he's definitely a menace to our neighborhood I'm personally not seeing that he ever went to trial and I'll continue to kind of look a bit while I'm editing as far as I can tell he there's just nothing in here showing that even got arrested so allegedly Roger Montague is running around killing cats he's admitted to throwing garlic at people and you go that's not that's you're like trying to make you're like oh I want to make some spaghetti and you're like just walking around saying Pedro all of a sudden all this garlic falls in your pocket like thank you Roger yeah I did look it up at his poisonous to dogs that's what people were complaining about they think he's trying to wage war on the dog population as well it's a bizarre story and it's ongoing and again I can't find that he was ever arrested or tried or anything like that so is the saga of the San Pedro cat killer solved is Roger Montague indeed the cat killer or not is are they two separate entities does Roger Montague own a crossbow that might be something but I think the bigger question here is what is up with the police because that is literally the dumbest reason I mean imagine living in that area in your car gets stolen and you called the cops you're like my car's gone and they're like yeah we can't investigate do you have a ring doorbell camera no you're like what no cops are like we can't investigate it it's so bizarre that's what elevates it not just from we started off in the urban legend then we got to true crime now we're at conspiracy level why are the police refusing to investigate this if someone was walking around and everyone in the neighborhood said that person is killing cats in almost any other community the cops would investigate it it's not that it's not that they are not arresting him which they may not have done that either it's not that they're not arresting him it's that they refuse to investigate it I can understand if they go listen we went we talked to him he doesn't own a crossbow he doesn't have a problem with cats we talked to him for a long time it's a total mistake yeah he's weird with the garlic thing but after an investigation he is not killing cats that's one thing and you go well okay I still think he's the cat killer but whatever he was fully investigating he was clear they're refusing to even investigate him they go we're not gonna look at anything we're not gonna go to the house I'm not gonna store and ask him sir do you own a crossbow that's what makes it that's what takes it from true crime to conspiracy to a cover-up why who knows the idea that he's an ex-cop I mean that could hold some weight but I couldn't find any proof that that was actually the case so bizarre story again we started off with a little urban legend Johnny Dominguez thanks for sending this over bizarre story we started off with a creepy urban legend in Texas brings us to a current event something happening to this day a cat killer whether it's Roger Montague or not someone is stalking the streets of San Pedro killing cats with a crossbow and that is no urban legend well it's now let's go ahead and touch the keys to the world famous carbon copter we are gonna leave behind San Pedro we hope those cats seek out justice well we hope that the police do their job and at least investigate him that's all we're asking is an investigation and we hope the cats are fine no one should be hurting any animals but especially cats because they invest let's nail let's go ahead and leave behind San Pedro why don't you fly us all the way out to a house a house in the suburbs and we'll be honest this is actually not the story I planned to cover we'll save that it's really cool story but we'll save it for tomorrow I'm really really on the edge fighting this sinus problem becoming a sinus infection so I've been taking a ton of cold medicine you're like yay Jason anyone's been listening to podcast for a long time they're probably checking their calendar they're like well I know Jason in the fall gets sick with something what was it again diverticulitis what what was it oh yeah no sinus infection yay whenever I start taking too much coffee medicine the show gets kind of wacky but I'm really trying to prevent that this year so we're gonna tell a bit of a shorter story parachute story will save for another one that's what I originally was gonna cover we're gonna cover this story but even though it's short I think there's something a really interesting angle to take on it so let's take a look at this we're going back to the year 2002 we don't have the exact name of the person telling the story we're gonna call him Clyde but Clyde says he was four back around the year 2002 and they lived in a big house him and his family lived in this big house in a really nice neighborhood and while he used to have to share a room with his little brother now Clyde's a big boy I've waited a second how are you how are you for and you have a little brother those kids are kind of close together was it like a baby crib in there were they Irish twins who knows but Clyde he's for now he gets his own room he's like I'm a big boy now you're not even in school for yourself little guy but anyways so Clyde gets his own room which should be fun which probably was for the most part during the day early evening but once it was bedtime this bedroom took a terrifying turn Clyde said that every couple nights after his mother put him to bed now Clyde don't wake up in the middle of the night give me a big kiss your big boy mommy loves you so much okay 99 Clyde and mom would leave the room every so often every couple nights Clyde would see the silhouette of a man standing in his doorway from what it sounds like it's like right after the mom left all of a sudden the silhouette and Clyde's like dad dad is that you and here's the thing you go obviously he's just dad maybe his dad's just being weird but Clyde realized really quickly that it wasn't his dad because this guy was massive Clyde said the silhouette was as tall and nearly as wide as the door frame that's kind of me actually now that I think about it like I'm I can take up the door frame I mean there's room right like a little bit like a smurf could walk by me or I turn sideways but doesn't that every man and everything about it I guess when you're four maybe you never know you're gonna get that big but isn't everyone as wide as a doorway I'm as wide as a doorway there's probably like an inch between my shoulders and the frame when I'm standing there and okay I'm not as tall as a door frame for sure for sure but I'm definitely as wide as a door frame well anyways I'm not I'm not the spooky ghost man who was staring at the skin while he's trying to go to sleep he realized it's not his dad it's just too massive the silhouette's just standing there in Clyde said I was too scared to look away but the man didn't move either he just stood there perfectly still for hours and you go oh okay so there's like maybe like a coat hanger maybe the mom's like good night Clyde and then she blocks it with a giant cabinet with a human head on it well here's the thing remember it wasn't every single night if he saw it every single night you go oh maybe it's like a shadow maybe it's a piece of furniture that's moved in front of the doorway but it was not every night it was every few nights and went on for a couple weeks well one day is really interesting well one day Clyde tells us his house got robbed we don't know exactly what was stolen we don't I don't think it's probably home invasion because I think it would specify that and then we suffered 12 hours of terrorism man held a shotgun to my family you know it's probably just like a break-in and some stuff was stolen was it everything was it the family treasures was it just a television set and a divx player we don't know but his house did get robbed and Clyde never saw the shadow man in his doorway ever again so he writes at the end of this Clyde writes this because he's been thinking about this for decades right he's writing this 22 years later he posted this pretty recently he said quote this all could have easily been my overactive imagination we'll put a little feather in that for now this all could have easily been my overactive imagination but thinking back I wonder if this man was living in our house somewhere it would have been hard to break into quietly and I don't know why someone would case a house so many times just to rob some jewelry unquote so I guess I should have read my notes more apparently it does sound like when he goes to break in the house quietly apparently it does sound like they were at home when they were robbed and that they did take some jewelry so he's trying to figure out what it is his two explanations are it could have been his imagination which to be fair there could be two things in play here there never could have been a silhouette it was just a childhood fear whenever you have a entity appear but never moves I'm not gonna say that it doesn't happen I think we have covered stories like that before but that would if someone came to me and told me about a ghost that they had in their house and one of the qualities of it was it shows up at night and it doesn't move I'm in a dark room and I look in the corner of the room and I see someone standing there and they don't move all night long my first guess is going to be a piece of furniture like hitting something weird you know street like coming in from outside creating a silhouette because we've all experienced that as kids I know I have an adult I do experience it as an adult from time to time but you see something and it looks human or even worse looks like a goblin or whatever but you see some you wake up in the middle of the night you're looking at our room and for a second you go up and then you flick the light on you realize it's like two coats hanging off of a hat rack so I've been something like that that would be an obvious answer the idea that someone was casing the house the whole time again that doesn't wash not to say burglars in thieves don't case the house put I mean he's not doing the job right if he's standing perfectly still at the door in a little kid's bedroom like the jewels are in another place but then I started thinking about this I started thinking about this but then I really started thinking about this story and I thought what if this shadow the silhouette was a warning not necessarily like a guardian angel but kind of someone was trying to let the family know that berries because here's the thing if he broke in while they were home the risk of violence is so high it's a different crime there's a difference between a burglary and a robbery and the big difference is whether or not there are people in the location half the time the thief is there and they convince people and they get harsher sentences if a random average person would assume there would be someone in there so let's say that you break into a house at 1 p.m.
in a suburban neighborhood and there happens to be someone home for lunch or someone's working from home their lawyer the thieves lawyer can argue well who would have thought anyone would be home at one in the afternoon he actually just wanted to go in and steal some valuables and leave and yes my client is a burglar he did burgle but he did not expect for there to be someone there as opposed to breaking into a house at six in the evening where they're almost always occupied now of course there's variances as far as like different neighborhoods uh we'll have different nearby industries and stuff to change but for the most part there's difference between the burglary and a robbery if you break into a wall grains at 3 p.m. versus 3 a.m. there's two completely different scenarios one you knew there are going to be people there and the other one if someone just happened to be there three in the morning for whatever reason you didn't you were trying to prevent violence you're still with me right you're still going to get in trouble the cops are going to be like ah you're good take what you can carry and one shopping card gets there but you can argue it especially violence does break out you can say well my client didn't come with the intent to make violence they didn't bring any weapon they clubbed this clerk over there with a bottle of diet 7 up but they didn't think that there was going to be a clerk there three in the morning so you wonder is this someone trying to warn them is this ghost standing there because let's say that it's not an overactive imagination or a thief or a thief was this trying to warn the family to prevent someone from waking up in the middle of night walking downstairs and interrupting this robbery this burglary really and then getting the situation escalated but then i had another thought this is where i was sitting at work today and i was like dude this is kind of trippy and i don't there is a way to test this the amount of legwork it would take would be immense i might have to call up my call up my good friends in the black society the government agency that hunts ghosts on this one but remember he never saw this afterwards and it seemed to be appearing for a couple weeks and then disappeared completely like he didn't see it before this he didn't see it after this i don't know what the correlation would be just yet i have a theory the internet and really written ghost stories you know there's basically there's you know a couple different types of recorded ghost stories but some of them are this place has been haunted for a long time this place has been haunted since the 1800s okay then we have this place has become haunted recently past year past couple months something crazy happened it's been haunted ever since and then every so often you'll hear of a i mean like a lot of times you'll see these on videos you'll see these videos on coast to coast am or on youtube wherever you're looking at them where it'll be like here's a video see if i can find one just for example but i think you know what i'm talking about they're like here's a video of a convenience store and here they show the clerk talking actually this is a very specific video i remember this one i'll definitely try to find it there's a video surveillance video footage of like a convenience store or grocery store and the clerk is talking to someone who's not there like having a conversation and helping them like helping them find an item and the reason why it's in the news is because the clerk remembers talking to somebody the clerk remembers helping someone and then something weird happened they're like huh that's weird like she gave her stuff she stole everything she just dematerialized so they check their surveillance footage and they see the man talking to nothing or the woman whoever the clerk was talking to nobody and you'll have reports like that you'll have a ton of reports like that the only time you ever see those in the news is when there's a video attached to them but what i'm saying is those one off ghosts that appear for a very short period of time no record of it being haunted before no record of it being haunted afterwards but for a period of time something weird happens a ghost walking around sightings weird noises such like that i wonder if you could draw a venn diagram between short-term new hauntings and crime not murder an upcoming crime like a robbery or i guess murder would count too but i think at that point the guardian angels would get a phone call you have a hotel everything's normal and then one day it seems like the entrance doors are malfunctioning and security starts saying hey what's up with the uh doors they keep malfunctioning someone they keep opening closing like someone's coming in but no one's coming in and they're like oh what and maybe they catch it on video but people guys just malfunction and then a week later someone robs that hotel they go right up to the front counter with a gun in their hand and they say give me all your money and then the hong scene stops and there was a why i mean there may be here's the thing when you have that is such a broad net that's such a broad and i know that right but i think if you could consistently find those things and it'd be hard like you would call these places up be like have you been robbed yet and they're like what now and you're like well stay tuned i'll call you next week they're like what now i'm gonna start every time they show on these videos i'm gonna find out where it's at even uh robbed the result and yet anyone murdered and you go chasing well that's kind of a odd connection to come up with you just have this one story you have this silhouette appears a couple of times a week for a few weeks robbery happen you're like you're basing a whole theory off one event well let's hypothetically say that i am a criminal as a hypothetical criminal whenever you want to there's multiple types of criminals right there's the impulse criminal who just wants whatever they can get because they need the meth money right now but the other type of criminal the hypothetical Jason criminal the something you have to look at is you have to plan things out very carefully there's a reason why certain criminals don't get caught some people may complain that it's over planning some people may think that you put too much thought into it but i've always said hypothetically if you're gonna commit any crime you should plan it as obsessively as committing murder because yeah there might be a ton of planning to do if you're just going to commit you know property damage or grand theft or assault but you don't know so many variables that can happen you may not know who the victim you know the victim is because you're planning it but you may not know who his uncle is or who his uncle's son is and that guy just happens to be a cop in Tucson, Arizona which doesn't mean a lot to you in Sacramento but it means a lot when the cop from Tucson, Arizona calls sacc PD and says hey i was wondering if you could do me a favor could you put could you put someone who's going to take this seriously my cousin out Sacramento you've gotten to some fight and can you figure out what's going on out there you know who your target is but you don't always know all the variables there's a ton of them right you don't know who's going to be driving by just randomly at the time things like that i mean god forbid i don't know how anyone does it nowadays with ring doorbell cameras but either so much stuff you can't account for there's so much stuff that you can't plan for so you need to over plan for the things you can check your tires check your oil make sure your car is in good running order that's step one whenever you're you're moving in and out of an area no bumper stickers no vanity license plates you have to have a car that can completely blend in in almost any neighborhood no fancy rims no tinted windows nothing that's going to draw police attention to you as you're entering or leaving a particular area you have to know how long it's going to take and you have to be able to call it at a certain point if you go if you say this is go we're going to time this this is going to take us two minutes which is an extremely long time hypothetically i would say any crime that's going to take five minutes or longer the risk of you getting caught is extremely high extremely high in that case five minutes is a long amount of time to do something in an area that is not your area that's illegal you're basically trying to outrun a cell phone you're trying to outrun a cell phone call and the second you get spotted you're trying to outrun a radio as the officers are calling things in so you plan everything everything that you can and i wonder if during said planning you are sending out unconsciously because you're looking at these i mean you know maps that's fancy nowadays all of these guys have like googler stuff like that right nowadays you can sit there and zoom in but little guy and do like a look at here's a 3d printed model of a neighborhood any questions gentlemen this is how we're going to go in here but you would have to say especially back in 2002 you would i mean you could listen man you're i'm sure i get a hundred comments now dude that's not how crime works people just breaking houses and take what they yeah sure a lot of people do and a lot of those guys break into a few houses and they get arrested or they have a rap sheet a mile long who's been arrested for this and that and spending time in prison is part of their industry but then there's the other type of criminal that's just going to really try to drill down and try to plan for every single thing they can plan for because listen you understand that you could have the perfect plan you pull up outside the location you step out of the car you slip on a puddle and you spring your ankle and it's ruined you're probably screaming right maybe not spring ankle right i'm a big baby i probably would have but like oh no i was born to plan i'm born to plan because i have my compadres dragging back to the apple i'm all just dead weight they're like dude you can huddle and they're like no no i'm too worried i'll spring that one too you can get out of your car you can pull up the perfect crime you can be headed back to your car you can trip faceplant right on the cement there's a ton of different things i mean the most likely one is you you're doing what you need to do your head about your car and there just happens to be a cop pulling around the corner i mean there's not much you can do in that case but sometimes you do what you need to do you're walking out to your car and it's just a random car at three in the morning is driving by and they get a good look at your car you everybody and you can't plan for that you cannot plan for those things so you have to over plan for everything else if you can get a copy of the weather report right i recommend all of that stuff hypothetically so i'll wrap this up real quick before the hypothetical police break down my very real door i wonder if when you are meticulously plotting something like that if you don't send out some sort of psychic blast because we do have the ghost not appearing a couple weeks the ghost is there and then the ghost never appears after the robbery that's really what i'm basing this out of we don't have anything else but that's because we've never looked for it before i mean it's never occurred to me before i wonder if we did start to chart these things wouldn't that be crazy i mean again i'm not saying every ghost is the byproduct of a crime or the most of that market byproduct of murder sure but you know what i mean like it's just a very particular type of ghost it's a place that's never been haunted is suddenly haunted and then the haunting stop can that be during that time period or shortly after it stops was there a crime committed and that actually see here's a thing it would be hard to get the information because we'd have to call these places up when we see these youtube videos pop up when we see these articles pop up that would be the hard part but once we got yes and we did get robbed yes and yeah that is actually interesting someone's car got broken into uh yeah we did have that haunting but no we never got robbed uh yeah we did have that haunting and then like this guy he who was stalking this co-worker we didn't know it and he made like this last ditch attempt to woo her and we had to call him to give your strain and order please show them if we made the inquiries we could chart it out and what would be interesting i mean again put on our conspiracy capsule refice up imagine if that was true for say 60 percent of these types of hauntings it would give us some concrete data about the world of the paranormal not that it would prove it anyone is not saying it's proof of ghost but we'd be able to say look this is a study we've actually done and there is this connection i think the hardest part would be finding the stories because i think for the most part they never get reported it's only when there's a video evidence do they pop up if there's a windies restaurant in florida that has a shadow figure walked through the back kitchen a couple times over the course of two months and then they get robbed i mean the robbery will drop actually that should be where we start places that are the subjects of robberies we start calling them up disguising our voices so they don't know who we are saying hey have you guys seen a ghost previous to this robbery any weird that actually be the way to go about it no think about it before i'll traumatize they're like oh i'm already scared to be robbed again and no i'm scared to ghost oh i was like oh i'm so sorry good i think i disguised my voice you know who i am click interesting it'll be interesting to see this is one of those things like the black bedroom phenomenon we covered it as a story and i go that's an interesting story and then once we started looking for it i started finding more and you guys started finding more and sending them in we started to build up the black bedroom phenomenon all but that those series of episodes in the show notes it's fascinating stuff maybe this is something like this maybe it's not maybe this is the one-off thing but without investigating it we'll never find out and i think this might be interesting to just kind of look at here and there it won't be the full emphasis of the show going forward but i think i might actually start doing some digging on the site on this and just see again it would just be a survey this one worked if i investigate 12 of them and those 12 have no connection you had a crime happening around the same time as a short-term haunting zero then maybe there's nothing to it but if one of those 12 has it like just a random 12 and i find that other story like this then we might be onto something so so we'll keep looking at that i think that'd be super interesting i think that'd be super interesting to me and hopefully to you too right now we're on deadbolt in the door i'm like oh i thought about Jason truly was hypothetical i did give him my address to get a supporter sticker uh hope he's not coming to my house yeah hypothetical Jason is truly hypothetical all of those stories and all of those examples i just gave you have no basis in fact or real life they were not true events but this one might be this story we might be able to find that they're actually is a link which to me would be absolutely bonkers and i would love that if we found anything but even if we didn't you know that's part of looking into stuff sometimes you find it sometimes you don't the journey is often fulfilling enough but oh i do want to find stuff right i also do want to find stuff that would be cool too then wrap radio at gmail.com is going to be our email address you can also have a facebook.com slash dead wrap radio tick-tock is at the wrap radio the wrap radio is the daily paranormal which is where it's usually revised as you can ever get put like just kidding
