Ep 135: Accessibility Change Agent with Heather Dowdy

I'm guilty of it.You probably are too. When #Linkedin (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=linkedin&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) or any of these social media platforms prompts you for a description of the photo you're posting or prompts you for a caption file, I've breezed right past it.Sure, you may have your pronouns on your profile. You may have even posted something in solidarity with the #BLM (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=blm&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) movement last year... but how are you addressing accessibility in your personal realm? What if I told you that 70% of you have invisible disabilities? And that ALL of us will be considered a part of the community at some point in our lives? My guest this afternoon is a champion for change in the space. In fact, she is working for one of tech's Big Five to get it done with #AI (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=ai&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064). You want to hear from Heather Dowdy (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ACoAAAgqNEMBLdljnXg-_tFBHjgOJECAPkiHKXY). She is walking out her mission......and it all started when she was 6 months old when she asked for pizza from her two deaf parents. We talk about it all, even #BASL (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=basl&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) or Black American Sign Language. Didn't know it was a thing? We put swag on everything, and have been for years. This is probably one of the most meaningful, intriguing and cutting edge episodes of The Culture Soup Podcast®.Don't miss it! #socialmedia (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=socialmedia&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) #culture (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=culture&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) #tech (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=tech&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) #leadership (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=leadership&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) #podcast (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=podcast&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) #business (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=business&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) #accessibility (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=accessibility&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6773292951524184064) This is a public episode.
