Send us Fan MailAt the age of 72, Major League Baseball broadcaster Dave Sims is starting a new job as the New York Yankees radio play-by-play voice. He replaces the legendary John Sterling who retired at the end of the 2024 season after 36 years calling Yankee games. Sims talks about how he landed the Yankee job, what it means to be a part of the historic franchise, along with his memories of his nearly two decades in Seattle. Dave Sims spent 18 years in Seattle calling Mariners games on television. The Yankee job marks a return to his East Coast roots and to the city where he spent a good part of his sports broadcasting career.
