Ep. 14 - Doubting Your Faith
from The Well Said Podcast · host The Well Said Podcast
It seems that no matter where we look today, we find some foundational aspect of our culture being questioned and dismantled. Doubt is the reigning virtue of today, at least when it comes to questions of faith and God. This doubt inevitably seeps into our skin if we live in this culture. Like it or not, as a christian today, you will be bombarded by questions about your faith. Even more unnerving, the very notion of faith in God is questioned. Not only are we challenged in the details of our faith (eg. Did Jesus exist? Is the Bible historically accurate? etc), but the very idea of confident faith in God and his revelation is eroded today. It seems to many people to simply be a superstitious artifact of history, not something modern people can take too seriously. To every christian out there today: the question is not IF you will face doubt. The question is WHEN. And how you respond. When we look at the christian message, is there any room in it for a proper experience of doubt? Does the experience of doubt mean that I am not a faithful christian? That something is wrong with me?
