Ep. 140 (4/21/23): NBA News: Nick Nurse Fired, Casey & Silas Out in DET & HOU | Northeastern Baseball’s 12-3 Victory over #15 UConn: Sirota and Maldonado Crush Two Homers Apiece

In this episode, Joey starts out by breaking down the news that the Toronto Raptors are firing head coach Nick Nurse after five years with the team. The former NBA Head Coach of the Year recipient was fired in a similar fashion to Dwane Casey in 2018 by Toronto. Following that, he talks about the Detroit Pistons moving on from Casey as head coach and the Houston Rockets relieving Stephen Silas of his duties as head coach. He mentions Ime Udoka, Frank Vogel and Nick Nurse as potential candidates to take over in Houston. After that, Joey praises Northeastern baseball for their dominant 12-3 win over the #15 UConn Huskies on Tuesday. He goes into detail about Mike Sirota and Cam Maldonado’s monster games at the dish, each mashing two home runs. Joey talks about Sirota’s offensive production this year and compares his statistics from this season to last year. The Huskies as a team have hit 65 home runs this season, a program record.
