Nu-Metal was all the rage, and a lot of new bands were beginning to peer around the corner. 1997 may not have been glamourous. It may not have been earth shattering, but it was important. It was like a transition year that saw the birth of many new artists that would later become mainstays on the metal scene and saw the end of a few influential bands as well.
