EP 146: Bear Bred Blueticks with the Ellwangers

from Hound PodCast: Double U Hunting Supply · host Jason Duby, Buddy Woodberry, Ross Ellwanger, Chris Ellwanger

We finally got a chance to meet up with Ross Ellwanger face to face and he brought a heavy hitter with him! His cousin Chris has been involved with hounds since a child and gives us a backstory on how their strain of dogs came to be.  A real bear dog is something to behold, but to consistently produce them is a feat of its own. Ross and Chris talk about selective breeding, the traits dogs carry, and also have some great stories about running bear in the cornfields of WI. We also take a live call for some training tips on dogs that have a tendency to be game possessive and have a great round table discussion on some things to try to correct the issue.  We would like to thank those who support this podcast.
