💭"It's very difficult to be part of international processes, to develop evidence-based practice, and to find enough information to grow as a specialist.” -  Dr. Yury Zhidchenko Our guest, Dr. Yury Zhidchenko, is a physician and physical therapist with over 20 years of experience. He graduated from St. Petersburg State Medical University in 2000. After completing his medical degree, Yury pursued a Clinical Residency in Family Medicine and Neurology at St. Petersburg and he then worked as an Emergency Room neurologist at St. Petersburg St. Elizabeth Hospital. From 2005 to 2007, Yury specialized in neurorehabilitation and played a key role in developing the Kinesis Rehabilitation Center, focusing on stroke patients. In 2007, he was invited by the Swiss Association of Paraplegia to discuss the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Between 2007 and 2023, Yury conducted over 8,500 home physical therapy sessions for patients with severe central nervous system lesions. From 2017 to 2019, Yury participated in the international SOCRE project, studying and working in Finland, the Netherlands, and Belgium to develop social rehabilitation approaches in Russia.
