Ep. 1478 - The Good News with Angie Austin - Jim Stovall, How to Grow Your Wealth / Al Erisman, Living with Purpose in a Polarizing World

Jim Stovall author or over 60 books discusses how to grow your wealth by being specific in your goals. Personal finance is comprised mostly of personal with very little finance. Money is a great tool if, and only if, you have a purpose for it. Having one dollar more than is required for everything you want or need can become frivolous. While I am certainly a proponent of having a comfortable emergency fund and retirement account, accumulating large sums of money beyond that quickly veers into what I call the Disease of More. Personal finances should always be targeted toward what matters to you, not keeping up with the proverbial Jones’s on social media. Saving for something specific like new shoes for your kids or a vacation makes savings lot more effective and fun. Al Erisman joins the Good News to discuss his book, How to Live Courageously in a Polarizing World. Al discusses the 5 major responses to a post-Christian world American evangelism is deeply divided. Denominations are splitting, many churches are dying, and being known as a Christian is now a social negative. The number of self-identifying Christians is declining, church attendance is declining, and more young people are leaving the church and their faith. But it is not time to panic. According to Al Erisman and co-author Randy Pope, living in a polarizing culture is nothing new. Join us!
