[Ep. 148] Navigating Why It's So Hard To Be Present
It can seem like it is or should be so simple but it much more elusive than we think: being present. In this episode, Luis explores why many of us avoid the highly sensational experience of being present -- low capacity. And while we often think having a low capacity for sensations means we avoid the "negative" sensations, it actually keeps us from experiencing the "positive" sensations as well. Luis reviews a multitude of behaviors we all employ to help us bypass, distract us from, or manage sensations as well as guides us through two short but impactful practices: 1) a practice to help become aware of our current capacity for sensations and 2) a practice to support the body in expanding its capacity for sensation.
