EP 148 "The Winning Speech Evaluation"

from Breakfast With Tiffany Show · host Tiffany Rossdale

Send us Fan MailThis episode is a followup from last week, as Tiffany guides us into the art of public speaking while explaining why evaluations are crucial in developing the impressive skills of speechmaking. For the big portion of this topic, we hear the feedback on Tiffany's speech (which you can find in the previous episode) from the other contestants from the Toastmasters where Tiffany receives reviews from more than ten people! Tiffany offers us helpful tips to keep in mind when receiving evaluations. For example, how not be overly critical, to not take feedbacks personally, and how constructive criticism can help us grow and improve as communicators. From Tiffany’s toastmaster speech, the reviews are received with much praise and congratulatory remarks. The feedsbacks included comments such as how they enjoyed the choice in topic, speech structure and self disclosure, how eye opening, resilient, breathtaking, sincere and authentic the powerful personal story as a transwoman in the lens of diversity. Moreover, they applaud Tiffany's splendid performance, gestures and her use of vivid and colorful language and so on.  Other critics included wanting more emotional connection from the speech, suggested to have a strong core message in the beginning to connect to the end, adding more humor to the speech, simplifying and speaking more slowly, and much more. Overall, the speech was a huge success and everyone who attended were looking forward to seeing more of Tiffany’s public speech! Thank you Yumiko for the delightful review! And as always, we thank you for your support and for joining us time and time again! Remember, you are valued and deserve happiness.
