Imagine planning a broadcast entirely in cursive, preserving the art of penmanship in a digital age. This is just one of the many unique insights you'll gain as we celebrate the 149th episode of Pat's Peeps Podcast. From the comfort of my home studio in Northern California, I take you on a behind-the-scenes journey that blends the world of radio and podcasting, complete with weather musings, a recent business experience, and the countdown to a pivotal election just 18 days away. Alongside the incredible Kitty O'Neill, our afternoon news anchor, we experiment with this new format, offering snippets of live radio seamlessly integrated into our discussion. As a Dodgers fan reveling in their World Series return, I share my sports enthusiasm and how it intertwines with my passion for music. Embarking on my daily walks, a soundtrack accompanies my recovery from an injury, and I'm thrilled to share tales from my rare record collection. Taking center stage is Don Henley's debut solo album, a gold-certified gem laden with cultural commentary. We dissect hits like "Dirty Laundry" and "Johnny Can't Read," exploring their themes and Henley's subsequent success with tracks like "Boys of Summer." Each chapter of this episode is a celebration of the joys of sports, music, and personal reflection, and I invite you to connect with these passions in our continued journey together.
