Child Protective Services is one of many organizations we trust to take care of children who are taken from their families, yet there is a very dark side to these organizations that isn't talked about. We need to begin the uncomfortable conversation that others are looking away from and that is the conversation around how child sex trafficking is much more common than we think and often times the very people and organizations we are trusting to protect are children are the ones doing the most harm. Juana's story is emotional, raw and eye opening. It's a story that needs to be heard and one that may help save thousands of other children from living the same horrors she had to endure.  What we desperately need to uncover is the invisible trafficking system that exists in our society and we hope Juana's story can begin the conversation starter to do just that.Sharing survivors stories is the biggest way we can bring awareness to the silent pandemic of child and human trafficking/abuse of all kinds. Juana is so brave for sharing her story and my hope is that you take the time to really listen to her words and share them with others so we can normalize having hard conversations about subjects that matter. And this subject mattes. Every child matters. One child in an abusive system is one child too many. My goal with this series is to talk about what no one else will talk about and to give these brave survivors a voice they've never had.
