Hello, everyone and happy belated Memorial Day. I hope you guys had a great holiday and you got to definitely remember those individuals that we've lost on along the way. That being said, let's go ahead and kick off this week. This is podcast episode 151, guys.
I am almost to 200 podcast episodes and I'm super excited about that because that's a milestone. I first initially started this podcast years ago. I posted a few episodes you'll notice and then I took a break because I wasn't sure the approach to this podcast and just to see the growth, the growth in the amount of people who listen to the podcast, but also just the growth in how God just uses me week to week on the topics and just to know that they resonate with some of you out there is just a blessing. I'm happy to be on podcast number 151.
You guys will notice that if many of you guys listen to old podcast episodes, you will definitely see that this podcast has come a long way. But I'm still a one man band and I just speak from the heart. I kind of don't focus so much on the unnecessary antics of a podcast. I focus on getting the message out and allowing you guys to get on with your lives.
That being said, I wanted to talk off of the topic of everyone doesn't deserve you. Everyone does not deserve you. Now I know this is one of those taglines that you've heard before, but sometimes you just need someone to come and just reiterate that fact. Everyone does not deserve you.
You may have a lot of people that come into your life that want you, but everyone doesn't deserve you. Part of the journey of loving yourself is realizing that everyone doesn't have the capacity to love you like you love you. And this is why I preached in a few episodes ago about starting to love yourself. For those of you who may be struggling in that area is because you really don't realize that certain people don't deserve your presence until you learn to appreciate your own presence.
So that's why we can't skip over that fact. You do have to go through a process of falling deep in love with yourself because you'll realize that some people just frankly don't possess the capability to love you the way you love you and the way you deserve to be loved. And many times we find ourselves so frustrated at these individuals, right? We try to change these people.
We try to force them. But people love the way that they were taught. I said this in many episodes ago. Sometimes we really just have to survey the way that they love.
Stop trying to change the way that they're loving you. They're loving you how they know how. Your job is to survey how they treat you, how they love you and figure out whether they deserve your presence, whether they deserve to give you that level of love or whether or not you deserve someone that matches your love, love or exceeds it. See whenever we give people things that they are not ready for, they tend to mishandle it.
And this is this includes the giving away of yourself. Your love for others sometimes can be too strong and too powerful. So much so that when it's placed in the hands of the wrong hands, mind you, it can become too heavy for them to bear. It's so big.
It's so overwhelming. It's so powerful. And here you're placing it in hands that's never touched the love like that, never felt the love like that. Don't know what to do with a love like that.
It may be too heavy for them. Does it make them a bad person? I always know. It just may be too heavy.
It's your job to protect your heart. It's your job to place your heart in the hands of safety nets. It's your job to determine who deserves you. The way you give out your time and attention or attentiveness can sometimes be too much for someone who's just not ready.
We get so frustrated, rightfully so, right? When a person mishandles us, we become so frustrated. But the entire time is sometimes we mishandle ourselves by trying to be present in the lives of a person who just isn't ready. Sometimes we miss and handle ourselves in doing that.
You have to understand, you wouldn't give a five year old car keys and tell them to go drive. Why not? Because you know that this five year old wouldn't know how to operate the vehicle. Now here you are much more valuable than a tangible procession like a car, right?
You're much more valuable than that. But yet you handle yourself loosely at times and you give the keys to your heart, the keys to your life, and you give it to a person that's not equipped to drive. There's not equipped to handle it. Even outside of relationships, you give the keys to your life, your livelihood.
To situations, maybe even that job that may not deserve you and may not, they may not have the necessary advancements, opportunities or individuals to help you grow in that position. And this is one thing I learned also, just to kind of go off topic, is that this exact same topic can relate to not only relationships, but also just career paths. Me spending years in corporate America, one thing you will realize is that there are some positions that don't really deserve you. You're that hard worker and you're putting in these hours and you're trying to show a company that's just not ready to receive a worker like you.
Sometimes you got to know when your time is up. Sometimes you have to know when it's time to protect. Sometimes you have to know when it's time to release yourself to go find the places that appreciate your value and the people in those places that appreciate your value. One thing I realized is that some people's access to you should be limited at times.
If you are not able to completely detach, then we have to also know when the access needs to be limited. We have to know that. And the reason why certain people should have limited to no access to you is because the closer you get to people who don't deserve you, many times the further remove you are from yourself or your needs. The closer they're able to latch on to you, you will realize the more you have to almost detach from yourself, right?
Because in order to be interconnected with someone who does not deserve you, there has to be a part of you that you deny. There has to be needs within you that you deny for the sake of that love. See, when you give yourself away to people that are underserving, they will often force you to believe that you're only worth what they are able to give you. And that's the major setup.
This is why it's so important to love yourself to know what you deserve, to trust your spirit enough, to know when it's not right. That intuition is God's voice. Trust it. To know when it's not right.
To know when you're pouring in places that you're pouring into cups that got holes in it. You're pouring into somebody's cup and they got a hole and guess what? All that pouring that you're doing is just flooding the ground because it's not being maintained because they don't know how to. It's too much for them.
They're like that five year old with car keys. They have no clue what to do with it. Again, doesn't make him a bad person, him or her. No, people love us how they know how.
And it's your job to not try to mix something out of nothing and accept people for who they are today. And protect yourself accordingly. That being said, that is it for my spill for this week. If you are in need of coach and be sure to log on to the RWC podcast.com on that website.
You can view all of the podcast episodes as well as some of the messages, questions that you may have. If you have any ideas on podcast topics, feel free to go ahead and submit it on that website. And also there is a coach with me to have located on that website as well. That being said, let's close out and pray your father, God, I just thank you for allowing us to come together yet again, another week Lord.
And thank you for just helping us to see with each and every episode that you just use me and speak through me, Father God, just helping the listeners to see how valuable they are, how important they are, how important their presence is. Father God, help each and every one of us to surround ourselves with people who appreciate that presence, appreciate that purpose, appreciate the love and the caring and the gifts that you've given each and every one of us. And the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
Until next week, I love y'all. Bye.
