Ep. 153 - Sermon - Good Friday's Seven Words

from St. Peter's Helenville · host Pastor Titus

Jesus had 7 final things to say as he was hanging from the tree of condemnation. The innocent Son of God, the Messiah, dies for the sins of the world. What a testament to God's faithfulness to humanity! He promised he would save Adam and Eve so many years ago. That promise was for them and for all of their children. Even though generations of humans have come, and all of them sinful and doing so many terrible things, God remained faithful to his promise. Jesus is the culmination of that promise being fulfilled in time. God became flesh for this reason, that he could carry our sins and be crushed for it. But this is not where the story ends for Jesus or for us. His words give us hope that this was all part of the plan to give access to new life, resurrection, and eternity in the very presence of God forever.
