Cancelling is often rooted in the fawn response, especially from the corporate perspective. In order to be "on the right side of history", organizations will often flip their messaging to reflect whatever feels safest for them.From the perspective of the group pushing for cancellation, mob mentality and the desire to be “correct” can be very prevalent.
