Ep. 158 - The Scoutmaster VS UFOs

On a hot, humid night in August 1952, scoutmaster D.S. “Sonny” DesVergers witnessed some lights from his vehicle, and decided to investigate, leaving the three Boy Scouts he was transporting in the car. After hacking away at the brush for about 4 minutes, Sonny arrived at a clearing in a grove and immediately was overcome with an awful, nauseating smell, the feeling as though someone or something was watching him, and an intense heat coming from above him. That was when he realized that he was standing underneath a hovering object.He was terrified, and slowly started backing up when he heard a noise like a metal door opening. A bright red light came from the side of the object and slowly moved towards him completely surrounding him, before he passed out. When he woke up, he couldn’t see because his eyes were burned, and when he eventually emerged from the brush he was incoherent, claiming that he had come into contact with a UFO that had attacked him. This incident is one of Project Blue Book’s most interesting cases and is still unsolved, where some believe it may be the best hoax in UFO history.
