Wine is a beautiful thing. But gee, it can be pretentious. South Australian winemaker David Bowley, founder of Vinteloper, has made it his mission to create "grown up fun". To cut out the bullshit and cliches of the wine industry, and create wines that people simply love. Even if they can't adequately describe the characteristics ("Mmmm, the tannins ..."). David has built of a community of wine lovers from all over the world, where he demystifies wine terminology and shares insights via his blog and social media. For David, Vinteloper is deeply personal. Every wine tells a story, and has been produced, quite literally, hands on. Wine is as much about the experience as it is the taste. This led to formation of the Urban Winery Project, an event that brings the wine regions to the city, and enables people to do it Lucille Ball style and get up to their ankles in grapes while being fed by Australia's top chefs.
