Today has been full. Okay, it has been a full day, but I'm excited to do this conversation listen. Jake. I'm here studying I'm over here looking at words.
I'm over here trying to figure out. Okay, let me make sure I know what we about to talk about So I'm already for it. I'm already for it. They better know man listening to this show like, you know, I'm just you know Sometimes we just when you get it is what it is we just talking cuz we live and stuff so it's easy to talk it But you know I try to bring some level education to the show man so people can learn and get self-development I feel you today has been on honestly not even just today.
It's just been crazy. It has it has it has we've been preparing for our Conference and my team is really taking this to another level this year and what I'm excited because this is our six year Doin it for anybody who know man them first couple years your girls crying like this is some bull junk Like I do not want to do this no, but I'm super excited about it So we've been really putting in some extra hours and some extra elbow grease just to make sure we bring it forth a kingdom experience So I'm excited about that like what's the theme and stuff this year which I'll do oh so our theme this year is rolled to six figures We are creating customized journey a customized journey for our clients or those who attend the conference I'm helping them just to create a kingdom message helping them to establish themselves as a kingdom coach and building kingdom business I'm over taking the the world's way of doing things. I'm over, you know trying to fit in secular Principles and strategies trying to bring forth a kingdom message I'm really the building to be bold and be like look this is who I am This is what I do and listen his work told me that he's giving me power to gain well So I mean why not take his strategy so I feel it I feel it So you know since we talking about it, you mean playing too, but you know I'm saying like you know I'm gonna show you man's about talk about it. Um, like how can people come to the conference?
Like I know you've been doing virtual the last couple years. Yeah, this one is in person. Yeah, this one is in person We're holding hosting it. I'm in Ann Arbor, Michigan this year.
I'm super excited man We have people flying in from all over it's so exciting just to know that man people are really buying playing tickets to come rock out with You girl, so it really makes me excited But yes in Ann Arbor, Michigan this year I'm we did refrain from virtual attendance because I mean come on y'all we've been behind the screen for two years and I'm just I'm over it Right, so yeah, so basically if you want to come to the conference you got to come in person Um, and Arbor, Michigan So how can people like you know if I'm out there and I want to come like where do I get the info from and all that Good stuff so good. So we're at Chase great university calm. Oh man, so y'all check it out the link is gonna be in the description of the show is Chase great university.com What's the dates May 12th through the 14th May 12th through 14th and Arbor, Michigan the road to six big guys.
Yeah, I'm with it All right, cool. So that's what you got going on. I don't have no confidence in you all. You know, I'm saying but not yet, man I'm I ain't gonna lie.
I It's time boss. Um, thanks man. It's been like these last couple months been crazy I'm gonna just be real with y'all. Um, and like I you know, I tell people all the time my life is private my strategy is public I Go back and forth.
I struggle. I'm just being real. You know, I'm saying I struggle like how much do I share with people versus cuz I just like to do I don't really like to talk I just I'll be trying to focus on getting my stuff done And I want to be as low key as possible like I don't like fame Popularities borderline. I don't know Jay.
I don't know I might have to disagree with you on that. We could disagree I know I know I know I already know but I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one cuz I mean I know you want to I know you like to show your strategy, but sometimes that personal Let me see that personal approach helps me understand the strategy better So if I'm implementing the strategy and I start to fail I start to go left I start to fall short is like man. Okay, am I doing this wrong? Oh wait a minute, but Jay see it and so I don't know no No, no, okay I'm not gonna disagree with you on that but that's kind of what I mean is like all right My life is private my strategy is public but because my strategy is public that mean elements of my life got you are in the strategy So yeah, yeah, you super private though So come on yeah, and we rock together But I got it like it's like for me is like I'm gonna be let me just be real on that right like all right I look and I know this anyway, we gonna talk we gonna get into the elements of the show and it's gonna be dope man And I do think it I think it actually um, you know all comes together right You know cuz today we gonna be talking about what opinion theory experience and practice.
Yeah, and so ultimately You know when I talk about my strategy is really all those things it comes from those things what I'm trying to balance And again, I'm not I'm not arguing or debating that I got it figured out the right way to do it I'm being honest though, which are like I struggled through like how much of what to share win because Maybe I'm just discouraged cuz it seemed like everybody want to be famous everybody want to be it's like it get weird to me At some point like y'all just y'all see how crazy famous people be how crazy they kids be like that stuff is no I totally agree with boundaries listen, I totally agree with the drawing the line your girl struggle with taking a picture of her fool Imposting it so you know, I get it I get it and I'm learning to be a little bit more transparent be a little bit more vulnerable Just so that people can connect to that you know that reality of what I go through from day to day building a business being a coach Being a wife being a mom But I totally understand drawing the line because I don't think that every aspect of your life need to be publicized I think that there should be something saved for home Like there's just certain things that people shouldn't know about you and that should be okay You know what and like what you saying something safe for home like I'm the kind of person is like yo the people who really know me You get something it's kind of like you know, you don't want to like like if you let's say you follow me on social media And it's just like oh that I watch these three videos. I got you figured out Yeah, then you meet me and it's nothing more to me like there is like that's it is no other layer like I'm just being real sometimes I be disappointed you meet people and you like oh like so that little real that Instagram real That's really it like like that's you throwing through like it's nothing more. Nope. That's not gonna be the same with you because there are layers Unfortunately, there are people who do not have layers they have no depth.
They are shallow. That's real. That's real life It's like what I show you is who I am and there's nothing more to add We were just talking about this other day how I just pray to be who you see in the mall who you hear on the Podcast who you see on Facebook live, you know, I'm saying like I want to be that same person whether or not I'm laughing or I'm being serious like this is me, but there's still more to me, but it's nothing that's going to surprise you like man That's what's all you yeah, it's not that type of right now. That's real like this is me But this ain't all I get what you saying is like I tell people like oh if you listen to my podcast This probably the closest you're gonna get to like okay like you can't figure all this out of Instagram because I just be talking left Laughing whatever then sometimes I'm super serious.
I think what I'm saying though is like Like you said it boundaries. Maybe that's just it I have to have boundaries because and when I get close to that boundary like the lights start the alarm start going off I'm like oh let me chill I'm saying too much because it ain't because I'm like I'm just trying to protect reality I think that's the best way I could put it like yeah, I don't want to become a Real-life meme from the standpoint of like I'm living out of meme and I that legit scares me because I've been seeing people get caught up in They own hype of like oh like now I'm popular or I went viral in this this but can I tell you though the reason why I Can't see that happening regardless of what you share. It's because you have the Holy Spirit And I don't mean to go deep but from what I'm noticing is he's our compass and it's like I'll allow you to share a little bit So that people can see this I'll allow you you know to show this side of you But he always grounds us or keep us in the space where those things not that they can't happen because of course If you ever start to rely on self, then that's most definitely where you'll end But as long as we stay with the intent of the heart that's my point. I think that's what weighs us and keeps us grounded That's the anchor so I feel good.
I just know You know whether some of us I don't really want people I know it's hilarious. I just be willing to chill It's like it's kind of like this. I'm like yo, all right. Let me tell you all right there This is how I like all right.
I told everybody I started a new job. So that's what I mean like alright That's enough. Look I've been on J4 all my life, right? Jay do you meet you know what?
I don't really know. I don't eat public I'm not gonna know I'm just playing. No, I'm being I'm playing but I'm laughing because he is a private person But once you do sit down and you kick it with Jay and have that type of you can laugh and have an intellectual conversation and debate all in the same Conversation I think that's and then I tell you too much and that's the thing So it's kind of like you know what like how much does a person need to know about me like alright? So alright, let's make it cuz it's ain't about me.
I'm just okay again The end is like see I start feeling weird when I like when I talk about myself too much, but all right. Let's here's the thing So I don't want to be famous Because to me fame is weird. It's not attractive like so like I see everybody wanting a thing right and I'm the kind of person is like Alright, so let's take Floyd Mayweather right money Mayweather, you know and this is like not I'm nothing disrespectful towards him But he's a famous boxer right everybody know Floyd money Mayweather he flashed the money around he you know whatever you know The thing is though who people don't really know is Al Heyman. That's his name.
No, that's the money behind Floyd And see this what I'm saying like I've seen famous people right, but then I watch documentaries and stuff Yeah, and I learn who the real person is and it's like a lot of times the person is acting like they got it all They not even the main like but that's a heart thing though Jay. That's a heart thing But why let me actually this why does Al get this the thing? Why is Al so low like so like this my thing is like if I could be Al Heyman, and that's just an example I don't know how that's all I'm saying. It's a heart thing again That's and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speak so we talk about you know What fame looks like to people or or that popularity listen popularity don't always bring Profit and I always bring cash, you know We could talk about all of that But at the end of the day is the intent of the heart and I believe you know when you get into that place where you are searching for Attention and to be famous it's a heart issue and Unfortunately from what I've seen and I'm only talking from my perspective because I won't get mad at LaToya Anytime that I try to operate out of me then I can see how those things start to take place But again staying grounded and God staying crying staying grounded in the Holy Spirit.
That's the reason why you can't see that But all right this one I'm gonna say though This was crazy And I don't want to sound I'm gonna just say it but I don't mean nothing disrespectfully if a person think like this I don't personally think you can want to be famous and not be operating itself like I'll to me That's not a I think the whole right because again like okay I've been popular before and I know the difference between me because I'm human I know what I look like when I get in that bag because it's a you it's an endorphin you you it makes you feel good So of course that that fame, you know like you say it doesn't seem possible to be famous without that self-worth To seek fame. Okay. That's a big thing. It's like I don't have no problem I don't want to be famous But I don't have a problem with being famous because that's not always in your control What I'm talking about is more so seeking fame like I don't think because all right Let me just put it like this right.
What is fame fame is generally everybody knows you correct? It is the Over exposure of oneself the more people like if I get a video to go viral more people know J Will then J will becomes famous okay famous people go out to the Mars everybody want a picture famous people go You know out the like that's literally what fame is I don't yes. Yes, I'm not I'm not debating the definition I'm not debating the definition I'm debating the person and the intent because here's the thing I think that a person can bring a powerful message and it shifts how they are perceived in the public right and so for the Person who needs the pictures and the paparazzi and you know the intent of that person is different than a person who I can't even Think of everybody right now, but who gives good information who you know if I was to see who we talked about last week? Tesla, but if I was to see him, I would know What who this man is right and he is famous because again of what he's produced not necessarily who he is all right So that's that's a good point.
I think it's different levels of fame too. Yeah, like because There are okay When I was just looking at a rough definition of fame the state of being known or talked about by many people Especially on account of notable achievements. All right, but so my thing is if I'm a person That becomes famous because I did something revolutionary and like Steve Jobs creates the iPhone, right? Everybody knows his name not I mean he's obviously a just like Elon Musk people know that name not everybody know what he Look like I was at um last week.
I went the top golf and I saw a player for the Pistons Two weeks ago. I was in Chicago Just walking down the street and I saw NBA player for the Milwaukee books and what I noticed in both of those situations was Nobody stopped them like they were just living life, right? But one was a rookie the other dude He was in the start duck contest before but he not a super popular player So he was just living his life even though you could say he has some level of fame that is out of his control Just because he's a great basketball player I think what I'm talking about may be different because did those guys seek fame or did they seek? Being a great basketball player that part and that's what I mean by the intent of the heart because there are some people who seek fame To be famous to be celebrity to be popular to be known and so No shade But most times those people are willing to go beyond extreme measures to stay in that space But if I'm just naturally looking to climb the level of the letters of success and it just so happened that people know who I am That's not the same thing.
I don't think it's not but that's what I'm saying though So like all right, let's make it look I'll make it real I don't think that to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish that I need to be famous I think fame is largely ego driven. So all right. I'll tell you like this I watch people I don't want to name people cuz I don't like that ain't what the show is about to like down somebody sure you don't But it's artists this one thing that used to always be interesting to me artists first come out back when I was listening to Whatever kind of music in college. Yeah artists comes out.
I'm a fan of this artist typically we like these artists because We like them because they have some real essence to them You know what I'm saying I get where you're going But the longer they are in fame and the more famous they become they become less and less of themselves and more ego driven in the fame It almost become not even a real human being anymore. So it's like ultimately what made them famous They are not even that anymore. Yes, then you'll catch somebody like a lower heel for instance Lauren Hill comes in a game and decides to go and be a regular human being Again, I don't know none about Lauren. I don't follow her whatever I know she was a dope artist when she was out but my point is like She did that like she read from something that she saw you get what I'm saying And I just don't take that lightly when people Like get a glimpse of that and be like nah, and then I see people who go all in and I'm like dang And I look at their kids and I'm like I guess here's what I'm saying Fame to me is a monster that's not meant to be sought like people seek it is right in front of me every day I see the result of it It is not many results of fame that I believe are like So so change the narrative that's all I'm saying narrative that narrative that the idea like you said It's a it fame is a monster that doesn't need to be sought while Lauren Hill is an amazing artist Her idea of maybe where she was going her intent may have only been to make music I love to make music what came along with it wasn't the intent and not even to say the other person that she was talking to that May have been the original tent as well But again now by this point now that I'm being seen I'm being heard it's feeding my flesh and now I'm willing to go to the next measure to keep it going again It's a heart thing so now and this is so funny that you saying this because me and me chad this conversation all the time He'd like you know I don't want to Get to this point and I'm this way and I'm like then don't be that way You don't have to be that way you choose if if someone came to you and gave you a contract right now And you just blew up it is it is Jay's Responsibility to stay who he is or allowed that contract to change him Listen to what you saying though.
I agree with that but that's why I believe you shouldn't seek fame because here's the problem That you're gonna come and seek it. I know in that case in that case I agree with you good You're talking about there's a difference between the result being fame and seeking fame to actually yes There could be like okay. I like you know Jordan Peterson, you know He's a psychologist philosopher, you know that goes around speaking I don't think most people would see Jordan Peterson in the street and know who he is right But he's still famous at the same time He got millions of followers reviews or whatever So I think there are different types and levels of fame And I guess what I'm saying is that there are some people who are famous because they do great work Yes And those people seem to only still be in love with the work and because they don't Because the fame is not the thing that they uphold They're still able to live some normalcy even within being very well known But the egotistical like flesh driven secret friends I just want people to know me I want my name and lights like that to me is a monster And I see all you got to do is turn on America idol Everybody's like oh, I always wanted to be the biggest star Oh, it's like yo Just look at the biggest stars And see what's like no disrespect to them Look at the biggest stars. Look at their kids read the articles Why would I want that?
Look at the pictures No, like so to me that's all I'm saying like why would I want that when I could still do all these other things I could be I could still make money I could still have success I could still create music and content and all right And if that's what I truly love And if I truly love helping people to me Like some people will make this excuse of like I want to reach more people whatever But it's like no I just want to reach who guy created me to reach Yeah, and if he wants me to reach more people To me God will create opportunities within me being a regular human being So my only thing is don't stop it as it grows Don't because you're trying not to do something And I understand your your different perspectives of it But the Bible says that your gift will make room for you So that you could be seen in front of great men So there has to be some sort of Increase visibility of what you're doing who you are But that doesn't mean that you have to change Who you are how you act the boundaries that you set You can still be the jay That nobody knows what car you drive And everybody know who you are But but here's the thing you know see to me though Even like when we say like great mean Great is substance not its quality not quantity So it's like for instance All right, I'm gonna tell you like this Last year because I was working on you know I've talked about before I was on this leadership team From the headquarters of the you know the organization I work for We created all these like initiatives to help You know minority restaurants and communities and things like that And like I got an opportunity like one of the dudes I kicked in with He was one of um He was a White House chef, right? I'd never heard his dude's name before Never seen him before in my life You get what I'm saying? But he's cooked for president So me and his gift has taken him in the presence of great mean I don't know his story, but I'm saying He doesn't necessarily have to give up a piece of him to get that So the only thing I'm saying I agree with you On the other side like don't self sabotage But what I'm saying is like the idea Okay, let's just keep it simple real quick The idea that I have to go viral for instance Like most people wake up in their creating content every day Simply to go viral to me That's absurd Absolutely like again the intent of your heart All right, let's all right, so cool All right, so I think we we captured that That was a good conversation cool. So hopefully on the day Y'all see how he just just just closes down We know Hopefully they can appreciate that it's like it's not necessarily And that's why I like talking to you It ain't necessarily like we got to agree on or see every little element of something the same It's like, you know, y'all tell us what y'all think, you know I'm saying I'm going to say y'all go ahead and shoot that couple emails and let him know that LaToya is talking right All right, you think so you're right say that Jermaine Wilson music at gmail.com You know, hear her up at chase great university.com or website.
I'm sure there's some way you can find it You know, but let us know what you think is right man to give us your perspective But again, that's what this is about like we not you know, hey, this is different perspective So I think this might actually In some weird way connect to what the topic today was supposed to be So, um, I I had this This is something I've been thinking about but like our severity these four elements of like a process, right? And it's opinion theory Experience and practice. All right, so kind of like let's let's go off the example that I just said about people want to become viral So you see this every day and again This is not what I try to be careful when I'm talking about social media because we all on social media And I'm not taking a shot like when I had this type of content is never directed at a person or something So you're like, oh, like no, I'm not talking about nobody But it's interesting conversation to me and thought so You have social media easily accessible low barriers to entry Anybody can get on social media create a free account today and have an opinion anybody can do something Funny interesting creative and emotional sympathetic and it can go viral Now here's where it gets interesting to me similar to celebrities There are people who listen to celebrities who are famous comedians and they listen to them for relationship advice So it's like, okay, just because a video of your favorite celebrity goes viral with them talking about a common topic What does that really mean in a grand scheme of things and this is where this comes in it? What is the difference between an opinion theory experience in practice?
I think that this ties perfectly into what we were just talking about Um, because when we we talk about the fame, right? And so because this person has this Um, this their popular does that mean their opinion is valid? Does it mean that their theory is valid? Does I mean is it only because they're known by all of these people that you believe that what came out of their mouth is real And some of the stuff that comes out of their mouth is absurd But because of who they are we just take it like it's bible That's what I mean.
That's why like for me when I think about it like all right So I'm gonna make this let's make it personal It's like always ask myself who do I want to be yeah And like do I want to be someone who says things that don't make sense But people pat me on the back and agree with me because I'm famous or popular or well-known or whatever And like I'm wrong though like it doesn't there's no validity to what I'm saying Nobody could take it That's why I always say like my life might be private but my strategy is public and it doesn't mean my strategy is the strategy I'm always right but what I'm saying is that I'm willing to back up what I'm saying With Something more than an opinion so let's start here and then we get your take opinion like just one definition a lot of these have various definitions One definition of opinion is a view or judgment formed about something not necessarily based on fact or knowledge All right, so what would you think about that? Let's unpack that an opinion a viewer judgment formed about something not necessarily based on fact or knowledge I mean everyone has one so It's it's a part of our response It's a part of human nature It's kind of like and it just it kind of bothers me when people and because we're talking about social media I can I can position it this way, but you make a post but then you don't want others opinions And so you get mad but for number one that's what social media is here for but for number two while opinions are not facts It's factual to them and so until you can come back or you can come up against that opinion with effect Then let it go that that's just my and I'm not the one to debate You know, I don't I'm not gonna get I'm not gonna argue with you what I think and what I believe is what I think and what I believe but When it comes to people's opinions man, everybody has one so it's like either I'm gonna come at you and I'm going to challenge your opinion with effect or I'm not gonna say anything Okay, so I think like you what I like about what you say is like everybody got one Right, so when I think about like just the You know the concept of supply and demand something that is low in supply is heavier in demand And it's more higher in value just because there's not a lot of it. The more of something there is the less valuable it is That's just you know basic economic principles So when I think about an opinion and related to that it's kind of like all right We all have one so the value or validity of an opinion that is by definition not necessarily based on fact or knowledge That means it doesn't have to be true and a person doesn't have to know what they're talking about for to be an opinion The reason I'm saying this is I think like for me. I try to I try to grow beyond an opinion.
So if you ask me about something right now It's like I want to be I want to have more than an opinion because everybody has an opinion So it's like all right. How do I get more? So the end the next step is theory, right? And each person got to ask themselves where they got in this so definition one of the definitions of theory An ideal or hypothetical set of facts principles or circumstances So all right for you, what's the difference between an opinion and a theory?
Okay, so When we talk about an opinion where you know, it is it's funny that we are We're going in this direction because when I think of this again We talk about how it's not related to effect. It's not related to any any type of substance Anybody can come up and say this is what I believe my thing is this though before I even share it up in opinion I want to speak from a space of experience I don't want to share an opinion based off of what I think I want to share an opinion based off of something that I am aware of That I am well versed in that I am educated in so that like you just say it's beyond an opinion, right? So now when we jump into theory and we're talking about, you know, it's a combination of facts It's a combination of principles It gives some sort of validity to what you're saying because now I have evidence So why I think the way that I think or why I'm saying what I'm saying And so it can be it can be frustrating for someone to always bring it a Opinion without any evidence to that opinion and so that's why I position myself and say, you know what? I don't I don't need to share my opinion about everything I see so much stuff that people talk about and don't get me wrong We I have an opinion to a lot of things But I feel like if I can't back this up with some sort of theories some sort of gather principles or facts or ideas to make it Or to provide evidence to it.
Why even go there? Why? Yeah, and you know what it's like self-awareness too So like and again this show is about balancing faith and business self-developing So like what we try to do today is like help you grow you know, I'm saying this is about growth So it's about saying, you know, okay, you have an opinion That's just what you think based off nothing or what you feel based off no real fact evidence anything But the theory is interesting to me because a theory also isn't necessarily right It's not necessarily is that a very fact, right? But it is based on some facts or principles or circumstances What I like about theory when you start graduating from just opinions to theory is so as an example Again, y'all alright since we talking about I never make stuff personal um When I bought my well me and tiff bought our first house back in 2012, right?
We were going through that You know when my when my credit score was 535 and 2012 it was like Alright, I had an opinion that I wanted a house It was like I want a house and I went and tried to buy a house with a 535 credit score And my wife was like 550 or something like that. We went and wanted a house That's why I just feel like in the house. I should have a house Well, you know like then you get denied and that denial Made me it forced me go from to go from opinion to theory mean it is I started reading started learning started asking questions. I remember asking my father and lost shot out daddy dare I asked him a bunch of questions because um he owned a house and I saw him buy a house I saw him sell a house so I was intrigued with the idea of like well Like I wanted something more than my opinion So I wanted to start basing it on some principles and things like that So just as an example though So I can read I read all these books read about how to do get your credit right now that And I'm gonna put a bookmark right there on this story, but at that point Yes, it's no longer an opinion now.
It's a theory, but I still don't own a house But at least my at least theoretically oh, this is how you buy a house that at least is based on something So what I just gathered from this and again when we talk about balancing faith when we talk about making sure that you're implementing faith And business and in life, you know again, we talk about the opinion Well, we I like when jay said we're just really trying to help you stretch and grow so that you don't always feel like that number one You have to give an opinion to everything But take the time to sit back and really educate yourself before speaking Why because the Bible talks about how our words have power right the power of death and life is in what you say And so if you're constantly speaking from a space that is off the hip or out of emotion That's all flesh. How do you operate in wisdom? How do you operate by uh by the voice of the holy spirit if you're always giving something that's just out of off the fly Right one thing that you just said about the opinion my opinion is you know, everybody should be able to buy a house When you first get married everybody that's my opinion everybody should be able to buy a house Right, but now if everybody will be able to buy a house, but yet you're at a 535 credit score Then guess what your opinion keeps you stuck So when we're thinking of this you have to say okay I do have an opinion about this But is this opinion going to keep me stuck or is it gonna catapult me into the next level? Well in order for you to be catapulted you're gonna have to turn that that opinion and add some sort of validity to it Some sort of evidence some sort of fact or principle behind it so that it has traction outside of that You'll stay stuck in which where you are And like like I like opinion is basically a fantasy like you it really keeps you out of reality Because in and of itself like It's kind of like hey, this is what I think it's no look different than a kid thinking a spider man I mean, yeah, like that's his opinion like it ain't based on nothing like little man could dress up like spider man All day long, but don't let him jump off the side of the porch because he gonna fall on the ground So I love that idea of just like yo, you you gotta go beyond here and see your point a lot of it for me is That opinion again kind of like I said about the person or people who seek the fame but don't have substance It's kind of like yo, yeah, you famous for one thing So you think that your opinion about I saw this with covid and we don't have to go down this road But like a lot of people had an opinion about covid and it's kind of like this is interesting because then I'm the kind of person That's gonna ask you deeper questions.
So that's that's the thing with me. Sometimes I'm just be real I can get frustrated trying to have conversation not conversations. Let me rephrase this There are times that let's take a topic. Let's go away from covid because I want to buy get mad and I'll listen to the show let's take a topic like You know releasing music just because that's something I've done a bunch of If I'm talking to somebody who has never in their life released one song And they're about to release their first song and they want to engage me and I've literally had stuff like this happen Not on this topic, but people will engage me about things they've never done Right to see what I think or whatever.
But then it's like I'm talking to somebody who's never released a song In the entire conversation is them trying to teach me based on their opinion about something that I know Beyond that. All right. And so what's interesting this is what I'm trying to warn people against Don't become the person that allows your opinion to become your reality To think that just because you think something it makes you an expert, right? So so again, you go to theory where now you've read some books now you you've done some things And then now that's how you graduate to experience Well, here's the thing about an opinion an opinion doesn't provide room to grow Because if I'm only going based off of what I think that's not good enough Especially if again what you think there like you just said if I'm using my opinion could be one thing But if I've never done this before if I've never built a business before if I've never released music before and if I stand on my Opinion then it'll keep me stuck.
There's no room for growth and opinion But then when I make that decision to say you know what I want my opinion to have some validity behind it If I'm talking to jay, listen if he asks me my opinion on what color to paint this wall I don't know and I really don't care why because that's not my my design I don't I don't come in with the interior design, you know, but if he comes to me and be like, okay, let's wait I got this business idea what you think boom my opinion matters because there's some credibility behind the opinion There's some validity behind the opinion. So don't come ask me and I say this all the time about coaching Listen, I am well versed in a lot of different areas But don't come to me talking about how to manage your money because that's not my area of expertise Just because I'm a coach doesn't mean that I should serve in all areas So just because you're an expert in tiktok does not mean that you should be doing a LinkedIn Training, you know what I'm saying? And I think that that's where we fall short because we want it seems like You know when we become educated in one area We want to make it seem like we're educated in all areas Yeah, so now my opinion should hold weight and this goes back to the fame and the celebrity Now my opinion should hold weight because I'm smart over here But are you smart over here? Yeah, and have you put in the time you made me think about like, you know I have a couple mentors and one thing that's interesting about mentors like when I'm with my mentors, I'm a student Even if they tell me something already know, yeah And I think part of what I'm talking about is we have to learn how to be students So like I think what happens is if I go to my mentor asked him something the fact that I'm asking the questions prove that I don't really know the answer That's what I'm asking right and then but sometimes we can get caught up We're asking and then we're trying to teach so like uh recently one of my mentors gave me some golf clubs I gotta try to learn how to play golf for this this new job.
I got it's like we I see this private life. Who knew who knew they was over here learning how to play golf? Not me man in june. I'm about to go We got this big event at this pga course like a real life pga.
I'm like yo, I'm at top golf Just trying to hit a ball off the look. Yeah, yeah Trying to hit the ball in the gorilla's mouth I So reach out to one of my mentors. I'm like, I I gotta get some golf equipment. I went out there.
I might have mentioned this. I don't know man I went to the store thinking like somebody to get some golf equipment basketball 40 bucks I'm like a bag Yeah, is it goochi I'm not about to pay 1,500 for a title. I can't ain't nobody gonna think I'm swag off with it listening. Yo, so But look though, so I got on my mentor right one of my mentors gave me some clubs and stuff And you know was just telling me some stuff to do then I went to Um top golf my boy kel was in town.
I'll kill from from overseas in the philippines And we went to top golf this week And my point is I am not a golf expert. So when you talk to me about go I don't care how smart I seen talking about credit money faith whatever I put a lot of time into learning some of these things and I still got a long way to go Talk to me about golf one thing about me at work and stuff. I'm like, oh, I'm horrible Like my boss literally told me when he offered me this job, I got like, yeah, by the way do you play golf I was like, no, you might want to learn. I'm like, okay.
I had like I literally like I can't But here's the thing this just came to me when you were when you were saying this an opinion counts From a person who you've seen to be well versed in many areas, right? And and let me say it So, okay, you may not be good at golf, right? And so that may not be your area But because you've been able to provide wisdom in so many areas even if you you're not an expert in this area I still honor your opinion because I've seen the fruit or the success of what you've been able to produce in so many other areas So let's say that because I don't want anyone out there to say, well, you know, I'm pretty smart and I'm pretty intelligent and my opinion You know serves a great purpose. We're not Discrediting your opinion and we just want you to know that there's levels to this thing We're talking to the people, you know who feel like that you need an opinion for everything and your opinion makes it correct without any evidence behind it Give me some sort of credibility.
Okay. Yeah, Jay Maybe he can't play golf But I will say that I believe that people who serve in any sort of being athletic and you know Just being able to pick up on things and learn things while he may not be fluent in it I still come to you and say Jay, what'd you think about these golf clubs? Man, I just bought my first but I did check this out and that opinion alone will hold weight because I know other areas where wisdom, you know Information was shared. No, I think that's I think that makes sense.
I'm happy you said that too because you know like again Like look if y'all for any new listeners, I gave all the disclaimers in the world in the first 100 episodes like Uh, we ain't never trying to come in nobody sideways your opinion actually matters period Like you know if we want to be technical what we're talking about from a self-development standpoint is we didn't we didn't graduate away from all The sensitive stuff because you're trying to be better already So it's kind of like y'all tell me what's wrong so I can get better But I agree with you toy like um, everybody's opinion opinions matter, but it's still an opinion and that's that's more So what we trying to say we not even trying to say it don't matter It just kind of mean like opinions opinion like opinion matters, but it don't matter more than a hundred dollar bill because a hundred dollar bill is An accumulation of a lot of pennies. You know, I'm saying versus like, you know, like again You go to the store if I got a hundred pennies, that's a dollar But I had to accumulate so many pennies to reach a dollar like what we're trying to say is like You could have a thousand opinions, but a theory is it holds more weight and the experience holds more weight than just your opinion you Because because it's more value in it. It's more substance in it. So no, I definitely agree with that.
Um It's an interesting it's an interesting conversation From the standpoint of like how do I like all right? Like you said about the the you were talking about like because you've done other things You're opinion and this matters and that is true too Because there are people that we might trust and they haven't necessarily experienced something or even have a theory But there's still credibility and I was gonna say there's also credibility you could build credibility by saying you don't know Yeah, I try to tell people when I don't know I told my boss when I don't play golf or whatever and there's some credibility that people can take And you could build when it's like, you know what? Are you being honest? Yeah, well also for me because I'm such a strongly like I'm really strong and firm in my convictions I want you to know when I am strong in something.
Oh, it's coming deeper than an opinion It's some theory and some experience behind it and that's part of the reason I'm trying to like break this down for us because You you will get To a point with someone if I start debating golf with somebody who actually played golf That's that makes no sense. I might have an opinion about golf But I've never been out there on that course in my life. So if you like yo, I play every weekend jay in a in a golf tournament Like I it's frustrating it might be frustrating for you to talk to me like because you got somebody that is a novice Within opinion about something that he's never Yeah, but I think that one of the points to that is your opinion matters, but it doesn't matter to everyone Right and so even and just kind of going back to the fame really quickly You know, there are certain people who are famous per se, but their opinions doesn't matter to me because I don't they don't weigh What they may weigh in your life in my life, right? So jay may say listen I talked to my mentor he said this and I don't care because I don't know your mentor But for you his opinion matters, right?
So again, when we talk about this whole opinion thing and and the reason why we're stressing it or we're trying to break it down Is because again as those who are are stretching themselves and you're you're looking to grow and become a better version of yourself It's okay to have an opinion, but you want to use your words with wisdom You want to make sure that okay, if I'm sharing my opinion that I'm speaking from a space of evidence I'm speaking of a space from foundation and I'm not just shooting it off the hip now Once again, it still matters who you have an opinion with or who's opinion matters to you But I think that that's the important part of making sure that you're establishing yourself in good ground Right because even though if you say my mentor, you know He didn't even made a couple million and he tell me he made a couple million as a coach and then you tell me his opinion I might listen, you know, I'm saying I might listen even though I don't know him But because of the credibility behind it, that's always saying make sure you're building something behind the voice before you just start speaking Or before you just start following because you just you just broke down something else about it This opinion thing ain't just about your opinion It's also about warning you don't follow people simply based on their opinions if they don't have these other things like me And you can paint this table a certain color and call it a certain color table conversation And then now because because we painted the color the table of color now we can just talk about everything right and it matter Yeah, and that's what I'm saying like we allow people to get famous And that's why it works both ways some of us are following people and here's the crazy thing You said something to talk about my mentor The opinions that you follow are actually a mirror into your soul Because you just said you was I you don't really care about my mentors opinion if you don't know Their credibility or their experience or why it matters, right? So then if you find out why it matters, that's a mirror into your soul. That means it matters because of this absolutely and that's my whole thing with fame Sometimes Famous people opinion only matters to us because we actually just want that we covet that as crazy as it is Got you I want that. So whatever he or she say about relationships, I'm agree with it Yeah, but it's always like what I'm trying to do is deconstruct that and say no Let's actually understand the difference between an opinion and then like you said No, the reason my mentor his opinion cares so much one of my mentors it cares so much wait with me because he's achieved more than I have in Business that's a but here's the second part and he's willing to share the strategies with me Yeah, now I don't know how much money he got in the bank.
I've been to his house though I don't know. I don't know, you know, you know, you know, kind of car you drive though I do know what kind of car you drive. Oh, no, but the point the point I'm making is When somebody shares their strategy with you, it's an intimate thing Because anybody can throw their money in your face. And so this is my thing, right?
I I can show you a car. I could post a picture today in front of me like okay a nice car, right? And then here's the thing, right? Whatever kind of is you rented it though.
No, just like a thing though If I throw that if I throw that audio in your face on facebook today, what does that do for you? Correct? Now now this turns into idolatry now I'm looking at because but now this goes back to the point of the tonight right of the topic we talked about a pain We talked about theory one of the things you talked about is about the strategy but see the strategy there is no strategy in an opinion See there there is no strategy in an opinion, right? But now when we start climbing this ladder So we didn't talk about opinion.
We didn't talk about theory. I know jake on give you some definition on experience The last point was practice strategy can't come unless you're all the way for notches in You know how far you gotta go before you can give me strategy That's you can't give me strategy out of an opinion Just listen There is no strategy. Thank you so much. You just always bring it up.
There is no strategy in an opinion No, so ultimately like that's what that's my thing. It's like You're famous or I'm famous and so I start sharing these opinions and these opinions start carrying more weight Because I'm famous, but all that's really hapsi I love to deconstruct things. Oh, the only thing that's happening is germane just throwing stuff in our face He's not telling me how to get stuff. He's not walking me through how he even got it So he might have hit a little lick on the side.
Look, I know people that's acting like they got stuff and he's like Like real life scam and real life can't tell you a strategy and y'all love the thing so much All you see is jay got a nice car and then here's the other part of it, right? What would have jay got a nice car in a and a beater and what if all I did was like posted the nice car and you see me out in the beater Now I gotta live up to some jot. I don't have listen if you I went to Menars yesterday I was in that store looking like somebody uncle you and this bennars you been out of it with no sandals and no socks on Not that bad, but I will say this I put on the first pair of shoes at the door They were maroon. Oh my gosh some black jogging pens that I had on all day and they was kind of lenny I am I am ducking and dodging.
I don't know. Listen. Listen all I'm saying is I don't have time to be trying to like live up to the idea But I think I think that's what makes it so special and again back to the fame I think that's what makes it so special because I know is that jay from his fire guys people man That that right there his podcast. They give so much good knowledge, right?
People know you but this man is walking around with some sandals and some socks on right because of the heart I'm not here to impress you. I'm not here to make you feel good I'm here to deliver a message and the message is what makes me who I am so while the message is makes me makes me who I am I'm not here delivering opinions. Listen, I'm gonna be real to sometimes I'm gonna be real to you I'm gonna take it for you might disagree with this. That's cool.
I ain't even listen I'm trying to give you strategy on faith and business I'm trying to prove no point to you whether I got on sandals or yeezys because you might catch me One of them. So my whole thing is like the whole idea I'm literally saying this what I got on don't matter if it's nice or if it's raggedy It literally don't matter to the point that I'm not trying to prove a point to people when I dress nice I will let me take that back in business. I am because because fashion matters in business So like when I go to business meetings and stuff, but that's still real life you I know I'm gonna stop him right here because I know a little bit of his business and last I check It take Jay longer to get dressed in Tim. So you cannot tell me that fast no matter But we're not gonna go there.
We're not gonna get it. He just felt like putting on some lenny jogger pants yesterday Okay, we're not gonna go there in real life. Okay. Yes fashion matters to me But I can be a boom a lot of times you right.
I'm not gonna we don't need that long So I want to say this before we go to experience Practice progress 14 and 12 always gonna remind me when I'm thinking about opinion and it says 14 and 12 There's a path before each person that seems right but it ends in death And what I love about proverbs, you know proverbs is just wisdom It's like it's just dropping proverbs is like listening to a medieval rap song where somebody just spitting nothing but bars And you like yo, there's a way that seems right to a man But the end there of his death the reason that always sticks out to me is like I tell myself Don't let what seems right to you kill you and some of us are willing to follow our opinions Into the opinions of others. Yeah, so it's like do you do like Have you have you waded up against anything like I know jay said it and you like jay But but did jay tell you to go read it yourself and like did you did you like I encourage all like this stuff We talk about on this podcast press it up against something else like read the word of God pray about it Like you got to test things out try the spirit by the spirit We just be taking the spirit we just like yo, I ain't trying it I ain't testing it man and just like you said because of the fruit you see you think that is bible you think that it's right And it's not always so and so my thing is this all right because we gonna move it forward with this When I talk about my strategies being open um What i'm saying is I don't need somebody to follow my strategy about business because they see me in a nice car I i'm gonna tell you like this situation with this house when in 2012 when when we I had a 535 credit score And I just found the report that I saved the credit report So I know the actual numbers the actual dates that it was ran all that the actual things that was old that day I told my wife And I've said this before on the show I would never wait again for a bill collector to call me We picked up the phone and started calling them. Yeah, and so That changed the trajectory for me, but I did something right and then I started learning these theories And so what i'm saying is I don't want you to believe this just because i'm saying it I want you to try it and this is where practice comes in at so or i'm sorry experience. I'm sorry So experience is something personally encountered undergone or lived through So, so let's talk about that just for a second before we get into practice It's some good and bad to experience is it's deeper than theory is deeper than opinion because now you you have gone through it yourself But let's talk about the good of that and also how experience ain't really everything because you can do something one time and it being experienced Yeah, and that's that's it right there And everybody's experience is different and every lesson that you're to gain out of the experience is different So even if I and I say this um often when we're when i'm helping coaches Establish who they are in the industry and in the marketplace and as i'm helping you define who you are as a coach We talk about your experience, right?
But we're not talking about your experience that you may have gone through once I'm talking about something that you were need deep in that thing and it develops something in you, right? Let's talk from that space because from that space you're not able to give an opinion that has some sort of validity behind it So, you know, we talked about you know, I've experienced oysters, right? But I'm never first where they're discussing so i'm not gonna do it again. Smell where?
Listen, they're gross, but secondly, I'm not gonna go sit at a table and talk to a oyster kind of sewer And try to debate like okay, I've experienced it, but that's not something that i'm fluent in so i'm good I'm gonna fall back so I think that again, I can talk about there's the good and the bad of experience because while you may have had a great Experience, you know with steak, I may have had a terrible one So the way they were able to teach from that space or share our opinions from that space are going to be different But it still validates or gives some sort of validity to the opinion I love that because like you saying with like steak, right? This experience with steak Me and you can go to the same steak restaurant have different experiences leave completely different reviews on the website reviews are hilarious to me because reviews are largely based on experience They're deeper than opinions they're deeper than theory because you didn't just theoretically say if I were to go to that restaurant I might have a good time right experiences when you graduate to actually step it into something But experience is so tricky and we got to be so careful not to sum up our our life Because someone had one experience so one of the things working in sales and marketing and you know I've worked on strategies and deals with you know all types of large organizations Let's let's use an amusement park right? I've worked on some some very large national amusement park deals and partnerships and one of the things that Amusement parks are trying to accomplish just generally speaking is they're trying to give you an experience That's what it's about you're coming out of the home and they want to give you an experience But there's something interesting about an experience and experience is it can be emotional when it's one time ain't enough So here's what I'm saying. I believe the experience is the beginning of strategy But it's not enough to build a real strategy because You got to do something more than one time Because if I get go to the roller coaster or the steak restaurant for one time and have this amazing experience I might spend more money on this property because I'm in such an emotional Um, you know great place.
It's like, I don't care You know that the that the candy is $10 for a kick at like so it's like I'll spend it why they caught you in that emotional place So what we got to be careful with experience is we can experience something one time notice when you leave a review about a restaurant You are emotional But practice let's talk about practice and we want to graduate like a whole point of this conversation Is for you to start graduating in your own strategy and your own life and start saying like maybe you were like me and you You know, you had a bad credit score and then you started building theory Uh through reading and talking to people and saying oh man, if I do this my credit to go up And then you experience like I remember the first time we we we experienced we built our first house It was a it was an experience right But it wasn't enough to make us experts, but it was such an experience that like oh now we've done it So now okay now you start feeling good, but now what is the difference between experience and practice? I'm gonna start with the definition. I'm gonna let you kick in To do or perform often customarily or habitually. Yeah I like that you use the uh the Example of you guys building a house right because now this takes me back to how you can get the opinion of someone who you value Right and so while you guys may have only done it once when me and I build our house We don't we don't talk about it like okay So, you know and no, maybe you haven't jumped now.
You're not building houses and maybe not right now Um, but you know, no, you're not construction workers and architects and drawn it out and engineered and building all that good stuff But because you've experienced it with a completion now this gives validity to the opinion that you can give me now We jump into practice right and this is what I love and this is what makes the strategy so strong When I teach I talk about strategy, right? And so I'm gonna show you my strategy But you're going to have to implement my strategy and and adjust it to who you are because what works for LaToya May not work exactly for Jay, right? So I'm helping Jay build his coaching business and I'm like Jay, you know, you got to do content You got to go live. You like but that's not my thing.
My thing is I do audio I say you need visual right the strategy is to increase your visibility So what I'm saying is is that when we talk about practice Yes, you want to experience it, but it's going to take you to do some things a couple times Right before you can build a solid strategy that's going to create uh, Result in the lives of other people So even if you start doing something when you're practicing it and I wrote it down that just because and we use as an example The medical practice, right? We talk about doctors and we talk about how they have their their medical practice It doesn't mean that they're incompetent because they're practicing It means that I'm showing up every day to better myself in this area So when we're when we're talking about, you know our message or what we're doing or growing our careers or growing our businesses You want to get into a place where I'm practicing and I'm doing something daily to make a better effort or create a better result To what I'm working towards that's dope. A practice is like look I ain't just do this one time. Yeah, it's a practice is the difference between I did this and I'm doing this okay Do this and so like again just taking it back to the example, right?
You you made me y'all make me y'all tell me I'm so private today. I didn't gave all of my business So if I go back to that home situation, so build a house in 2013 I think it started 2013 house was ready in 2014 now. We also going back to a process y'all again We talk in strategy remember it was 2012 that I started like having my opinion that I should have a house and then you know 2012 2013 is where I started having some theory 2014 is when I experienced something something totally different happened for me in 2017 Okay, and 2017 was when I started practice because I had built a home I had Lived in this home now for two and a half three years What I didn't do is I didn't stop at the experience So for me when I experienced it I started reading more books So there were there were a set of books and ideas that got me to build in a house from bad credit to having you know, okay, cool I'm like all right we out here Then there was a different set of books and a different set of content growth praying reading the word that got me to then understand And now that I was in a home kept my education going and in 2017 I had another theory It's like hmm. I've read all this stuff and I actually think I should sell this house Because the community I was in was a new community.
We were one of the first houses built over there My strategy was my theory at the time was as soon as it sells out I'm a celled as property and we were looking at our neighbors They were getting paying thousands of dollars for decks and patios and all this stuff I put minimum money into this house We did like really basic things just the house was beautiful because it's just me and Tiff and it was a house bigger than we needed Tiff looked at me like I was crazy. She's like, why do you want to sell my house? Yeah, right? Why do you want to say like it made no sense to her now again?
No disrespect like this is in love to my wife. We talked about this. I don't want to make sure I say this the right way At the time notice I'm saying at the time all she had was an opinion She didn't have she ain't read no books about real estate. She just looking like all I know the result behind this She couldn't see the result.
Yeah, so it took me a week or three days You know, I'm taking you know, I'm taking you know, I'm taking you know, convince her like I'm going to do this We sold our house and the reason I say now that's practice is because now I didn't do something a couple times in three years Right and when you continue to do things there are always new wrinkles and new things grow and get to so what I'm trying to tell people is If I would have stopped at my opinion in 2012 Everything that happened between 2012 and 2017 wouldn't happen and when you look at it and then again like okay The house from 2017 just sold that like and so now it's like three houses and and eight seven eight years, right? Not and again, I'm sharing strategy because this is the this the last thing I say about this The reason I like to think outside the box. I see people I've seen my grandparents. I've seen people live in the house for 50 years Yeah, and I'm like well wait a minute Regardless of what I feel I love the house is big my house I have had theories that the interned to experiences and now I have practice Oh, oh now that you say that now that you say that I'm there.
I get it now. That's funny I'm because me and I purchased our first home, right? So we'll be there a year I think like Saturday or something or Sunday So we've been there for a year and prior to buying I had an opinion because the girl didn't know nothing Okay, I just knew that I was supposed to have a house, right? I knew that it was time for us to purchase this house for our family and make sure we're grounded and provide some stability and you know all of this stuff, right?
And so once we went into the process of buying this house I'm still in opinion because although I'm going through it. I haven't yet experienced it, right? So even the theory gave me more education about it But it wasn't until I experienced the buying process in the living process for me to be like, oh, you know, like hold on Wait a minute, we did something wrong here like not saying that we love our house first house You know, we did very well towards me our first house But I'm saying that to now be on the other side and say I missed some stuff, right? So I've experienced it and I haven't yet gotten to the practice part because you know when we decided to move and sail But guess what when I was in my opinion stage, I wasn't thinking about moving and selling I'm like, no, this house is the forever house and me it's like no, it's not right But that's because I was giving I was my my opinion was educated, right?
It didn't have any any any validity behind it. So you just saying this and don't tell me don't Let me let me let me let me pause there because nobody gets time for what you gonna say No, no don't tell him I said Light into me, but no seriously, I get it That was definitely a high moment and yeah, shout out to my husband because when we were in that opinion stage He wasn't in the opinion stage. He was in the theory stage. He was in the experience stage and I was far behind So now talking this thing through and this is the growth part, right?
This is the growth part So now when we get ready to go by the land that I want in the house and all that good stuff now We'll be in practice because it's something that we've experienced we've learned from it We've continued to educate ourselves in it and now we're ready to go to the next level Alright, so you said some those stuff you're welcome each, you know, we making home But you said some real powerful you you said that you know when you when you were in opinion mode You missed some stuff. Yeah, so because because of paying this was part of what we trying to bring out is like because opinion is strictly emotion You missed some things and again, even in your first experience. So you got your house We did the same thing I'm gonna tell you the dumbest thing I deal with our first house in 2014 We you know, we add an island get the granted or whatever and I remember it almost like it was yesterday We walking through the house and I don't know if we were no we were walking through the model house picking out the colors and stuff And I remember she asked like do you want the granted to be extended past the counter? And I was like, no, that's stupid like why would I do that?
So I didn't get the granted extended and then guess what? That's opinion never owned a house at the time didn't know just talking Set in it when I where's the rest of the counter? Set at the bar at the island and I'm like, oh you posted extended like that So my point is this when you have an opinion you go miss stuff you miss stuff and It's so frustrating for people like a reason I think it's so important for us to put ourselves in our place Like when I'm in a pinion mode like yeah, you don't know about golf put yourself in your place be a listener Stop trying to be a teacher. This ain't inspire guys people.
You ain't experienced nothing You ain't got no theories listen Yeah, we have to humble ourselves at times and be okay with being a student So that we can learn something because it's ultimately for the benefit of our good I'm gonna add another wrinkle in there, right? Again, we start talking about theory practice, you know, experience all this stuff Part of what I learned that made me sell the first house after three years was I learned at the time that there was a tax Hack where a tax break where if you live in a primary residence for two years You when you sell it you get the profits back tax-free. Yeah, I'm like wait a minute So whatever money I make on this I don't have to let the house was sold when I learned that like it was like I'm out of here my point is I watch people my whole life Almost idolize houses, right? And this is also where I don't like throwing things in people face because ultimately you don't matter if you got a small house a big house The the strategy could be used if you buy a house in a hood It's a house in a suburb.
It doesn't matter. Yeah, like the strategy is there So here's the last thing I want to say that like When you start practicing something You start adding new wrinkles you get confident now you don't want to be arrogant But then you can start helping others and part of you know my belief in the strategies that I try to share on this show Are things that I practice is like oh no, I do that just one time I ain't playing one game I'm gonna play this again Now again part of that is understanding you're gonna continue to learn and practicing is about making you better And that is ultimately how you grow and each time that I've practiced to it and been in practice My strategy keep adding new wrinkles. I keep telling people like people asking like when you're gonna write a book and stuff I'm still living it right now. I'm still living my first book because it's I feel it It's like steel stuff like oh wrinkles that I'm like because when that when that first book comes out I don't want it to be opinion.
I want it to be practiced Yeah, you know what though and and here's something I want everyone to consider that practice doesn't mean amateur, right? Because when we hear practice you think that is someone that's learning something and it's not that I'm yes I'm always learning like we said always be a student. I'm always learning So I am still learning but it prepares me or establishes me as the expert because even though I'm practicing that mean that every day I'm getting up to better myself in this area. So and I say this all the time, you know how you know We maybe we say the team we talk about living your best life right at team Mama I made it although I don't think that there's ever an arrival unless Jesus came back But for the sake of 10 is mama.
I made it if you're a seven then you need to be serving 0 through 6 if you're a five They need to be serving 0 through 4 if you're two you need to be serving 0 to 1 What do I mean by that if I'm a 2 I have to keep practicing until I'm a 7 if I'm a 7 I got to keep practicing until I'm 8 does that mean that I'm perfect? No, but it does mean that I'm better than where I was and now I'm able to establish a little a smaller I'm able to establish some expertise because of what I've been able to accomplish So it doesn't necessarily mean that when a person is practicing something that they're amateur They're incompetent is taking them too long I want to stay in the practice because in the practice is where I'm able to grow is where I'm able to develop like we talked about the Promise being in the process that process is practice every day. I'm getting up. Let me let me see what I'm working on Let me every day.
I'm practicing to keep better books right every day I'm practicing to coach better that doesn't mean that I can't do it It means I'm spending the time really sharpening my craft And so I just wanted to you know kind of share that perspective for the person who's like well practicing me that you ain't got it No practicing me. I'm making it better Yeah, and you are making a habit out of doing it continuously. It becomes really a lifestyle Yeah practice is really about graduating to where something is a lifestyle now now that I have practice My experiences my theories and my opinions hold more weight. Yeah, and real quick I'm sorry the practice is better than the game all day long the practice because the game is what 30 minutes an hour two hours But that practice man, that's what because that strength that endurance that you gain during the practice is over very quickly in the game But guess what you can live on you can you can keep going in that practice.
You know what I'm saying? That's dope. Yeah, man. So look hopefully y'all enjoyed today, man.
Um, I just I love it This might be one of my favorite shows ever because you know what's so important to me Like I said from the beginning is like to me you could go viral seeing the absolute most nice And I'm not saying everybody who's going viral son saying nonsense, but you have to dumb content down so much You do that for me is like no like you Like if you're actually going to become better you need the detail you need the strategy you need to like actually Practice and that's ultimately what it's like from a biblical perspective in faith and business We should be practicing we should be practicing christians We shouldn't just be opinionated christians or christians in theory or someone who has experienced church one time We should be practicing a lifestyle of christianity and really all that we do is should pour over into our Business and our lifestyles and and so yeah, hopefully people enjoyed this man You got anything else to add before we get out here man.
