Ep 164: If we were perfect, we wouldn't need self-kindness

from SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people · host Erica

I used to bargain with myself: if I could just be perfect enough, good enough, worthy enough, then I wouldn't beat up on myself so bad. Um ... I couldn't see it at the time, but this literally makes no sense. Self-kindness and self-compassion are necessary because of the very nature of being human. It's not always neat and perfect and comfortable. Maybe you've noticed. Today's episode is a short one exploring this. In it I share:> the bargain I used to make with myself which, ultimately, was placing conditions on my self-worth> why this didn't (and couldn't) work.Does this resonate? Have you been there?
