Ep 17 | Healing & Spiritual Growth for Leaders
from Leading from Wholeness | Boundaries, Faith, Identity, Leadership Coach · host Audrey Shelby - Leadership Coach
Show Notes Episode Overview Join us for the 2026 Pray Without Ceasing Conference in Buena Park, CA Healing doesn't just happen — it takes intentional work, attention, effort, and time. In this episode, we challenge you to take one brave step toward wholeness today. Using Philippians 2:12 as our anchor, we explore what it looks like to actively pursue healing across every area of your life — spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Key Scripture Philippians 2:12 (AMP) "So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]." Matthew 4:4 "Man shall not live by bread alone." What We Cover in This Episode Healing takes intentional work. We're resisting the thought that says "I don't have time for this" or "I'll start when I'm ready." What does readiness actually look like? If not being ready means continuing to walk around broken, is that really the alternative you want? We encourage you to be brave and start one thing today. God wants us whole. Healing isn't optional maintenance — it's God's desire for every area of your life. Where should I start? Start where you struggle the most. Ask yourself honestly: Are you struggling with submitting to authority, frustrated with leadership, and resistant to direction? Are you battling depression, wanting the abundant life Jesus speaks of, but feeling stuck in the same dark pit? Are you dealing with low self-worth, allowing poor boundaries, and undervaluing yourself? The Investment Framework: Learn · Practice · Grow Just as you go to school or learn a trade to grow in your career, invest the same intentionality into your healing. Learn — Seek out resources, voices, and wisdom that speak to your specific areas of struggle. Practice — The more you learn and practice, the stronger your skills will be. Grow — Personal and spiritual growth don't happen by accident. You have to focus on them. Working out your salvation (Philippians 2:12) is the same principle. The more you invest in your healing, the stronger and more secure you will be — spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. This Week's Challenge Take a moment this week to ask God: "What do You want me to focus on right now?" "What do You want me to read?" "Who do You want me to listen to?" "Where are You calling me to grow?" Then — listen, obey, and invest in your healing. Here's to the journey. Don't worry about the destination — just enjoy the trip.
