EP 173: All Things Gifting; The Arrival of the Magi

from Gather Moms

Hey Mamas! We’ve made it to the last episode of our Christmas series, and oh, what a journey it’s been! Today, we’re diving deep into the story of the Magi (the Wise Men) and King Herod. You guys, the contrast between these two is SO powerful. The Magi came to worship Jesus with humble hearts and incredible gifts, while Herod… yikes. His fear of losing control drove him to manipulation, lies, and even tragedy. As we talked through this, we realized something BIG: sometimes we’re more like Herod than we’d like to admit (ouch ). But that’s where God’s grace steps in! We’re reminded to focus on Jesus, to stop what we’re doing, and give Him our hearts—even if it means pausing the chaos of the holidays for a quick prayer . God’s plans are SO good, Mamas. Did you know Daniel’s faith (yes, from the lion’s den ) might’ve inspired the Magi to seek Jesus hundreds of years later? Like, what?! Nothing is wasted in God’s story, and that includes all the hard stuff we go through, too. We’re wrapping up this episode with a challenge to pray for people around the world who can’t celebrate Christmas freely like we can. Let’s lift them up as a family and keep our eyes on the hope and joy that Jesus brings! Sponsor: www.gabb.com/gathermoms Best Night Ever!
