Ep. 18 The Axe Killer of New Orleans
from Brown Brothers Haunting Hour · host Tyler and Ryan Brown
When it comes to serial killers in the early 1900s a few names always seem to come to mind. People such as H.H. Holmes and “Jolly Jane” Toppan are a few of these iconic figures we think of when we picture “early American mass murderers”. One killer that seems to fly under the radar at this time in America was a killer that clouded New Orleans in terror from May 1918-October 1919. This killer claimed to be a demon from hell that reigned fear all across the city of New Orleans. He killed many and left more horribly disfigured inside their own homes. He was a hulking figure that wore a trench coat, slouched hat, and his weapon of choice…an axe.
