EP 18: What I learned from a 10 Day Silent Vipassana Meditation Retreat
from Follow Your Path Podcast · host Sean Graves
Send us a textIn this episode I share the most valuable gems of wisdom I received from recently going 10 day in silence and meditating for 80+ hours at the Dhamma Center in 29 Palms. I've never cleared that type of space before and attained such a high level of awareness in my thinking patterns and bodily sensations I was unconsciously reacting to everyday of my life.Vipassana Meditation is a technique that was discovered in India by Gotama Buddha to achieve enlightenment. A technique he then dedicated the rest of his life to teaching others to help rid them of their misery and suffering. It is a non sectarian and universal practice meant for everyone not just those practicing Buddhism. It is aimed at digging deep into the roots of sankaras (habits that don't serve us) to reprogram and uproot. Think plucking the weeds out of the garden of your mind. This was a very unique, interesting, challenging, and incredible experience all in one. These seem to be gaining traction as there are over 200 centers around the world and courses are booked out sometimes up to 6 months in advance.
