It's a tough scripture text, Matthew 10: 24-39. Jesus shares that his teaching may not always bring people together but may separate people, even people closest to us. The way of the Christ may ask us to go against what our parents taught, friends support, political party platform, or personal agenda. Disagreeing with strangers is one thing. Disagreeing with family can be much, much tougher.
