from Last Days Hosted by TMZ
On July 1, 1991, Michael Landon — the actor, writer, director, and producer whose work on Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and Highway to Heaven made him one of television’s most beloved figures — died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 54. At the time of his death, Landon had spent more than three decades bringing warmth, resilience, and deeply personal storytelling into millions of American homes, evolving from a handsome young TV star into one of the medium’s most powerful creative forces. With his easy charm, emotional honesty, and gift for finding hope in life’s hardest moments, Michael Landon became far more than a television icon — he became a defining part of generations of family viewing.
