Along with its impressive history, Avondale GC is a leader in many areas relating to golf course maintenance including environmental stewardship and adoption of technology to improve maintenance practices. Rob continues this tradition at the club, pushing the boundaries of turf maintenance in an effort to provide better turf and have less impact on the environment.Rob's story however began in another country, that of New Zealand and its largest city, Auckland. Coming from a family of outdoor sport lovers, Rob was destined to be outside more than inside and sports turf maintenance for work was a progression of that. Completing his greenkeeping apprenticeship at Maungakiekie Golf Club, followed by a bite of the travel bug, Rob was soon globe trotting and greenkeeping in Australia, Canada and the UK.
