from PT Pro Talk · host Mariana Hanna Parks

💭 “We validated an algorithm that is able to detect centralization and directional preference in patients with spinal pain, based on the software." - Dr. Jean-Philippe Deneuville👉🏻Dr. Jean-Philippe Deneuville is a French physiotherapist specializing in musculoskeletal disorders. He holds an International MDT Diploma, a Master’s in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Dundee, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Bioengineering. A McKenzie Institute faculty member since 2017, he has taught over 100 courses worldwide. His research focuses on intervertebral disc disorders and spinal pain, working closely with the PRISMATICS team to develop new diagnostic and treatment technologies. He currently balances clinical practice, teaching, and research. 📚You will learn about: Key findings from studies on disc behavior under load and the dynamic disc modelInsights from quantitative MRI research on nucleus pulposus changes with sagittal bending and radial fissuresA new numerical algorithm developed to detect centralization and directional preferenceThe use of digital body charts and controlled discography in assessing spinal pain, and more🔎Jean-Philippe's resources of information:Quantitative MRI to Characterize the Nucleus Pulposus Morphological and Biomechanical Variation According to Sagittal Bending Load and Radial Fissure, an ex vivo Ovine Specimen Proof-of-Concept Study - Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology (2021)The Added Value of Digital Body Chart Pain Surface Assessment as an Objective Biomarker: Multicohort Study - Journal of Medical Internet Research (2025)Dynamic behavior of the nucleus pulposus within the intervertebral disc loading: a systematic review and meta-analysis exploring the concept of dynamic disc model - Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology (2025)Development of a numerical algorithm to detect centralization phenomenon and directional preference among spinal pain patients : a reliability and validity study - Journal of Medical Internet Research (2024)📲 Jean-Philippe's contact information:Email: [email protected]🎥Link to interview on YoutubePS: To join the HEP interest list, please click here 👉 Share Your Feedback🎙Join our email list to receive podcast updates📸Instagram 📱Facebook💻LinkedIn🐦Twitter📩Email: [email protected]PT Pro Talk Podcast is only possible with the support of forward-looking and innovative companies like NeckCare and SaraHealth.
