Starlight Thursdays Episode 183 featuring an all original set by Fish Bwoi. Really stoked to have him in the series. Here’s a short interview to get a closer look into Fish Bwoi. How long have you been DJing? 4 years Why did you get into it? At first I was just a hiphop DJ playing beats for local rappers sets but as I developed as a producer I started making more danceable music like house and techno and I’ve really only been playing out with that material for maybe three years. What events have you played? I’ve helped open for Bone Thugs at the Rialto and the Wilma. I’ve played sets in the past at the Top Hat. Most recently i've played the Power strip festival put on by “Daisy Chain Presents,” as well as a Maui benefit at Glacier Lanes in Columbia Falls and the Equinox with Sticks n’ Stones. There are too many house sets to account for individually. I am also currently booked to play the Blood Moon, Daisychains Halloween event on the 28th at the American Legion Bar Where are you from? Missoula, MT What inspires you about DJing? You can go anywhere to do it and without words you can all still connect and have a beautiful experience. What inspires you about electronic music culture? I identify with it very heavily, its all ive made and probably all ill ever know. I believe it's the only true future for music because it's so unavoidable. Making a beat today is easier than buying an instrument! And I pray instruments don't disappear because then I will run out of sounds to repurpose. What genres are in your mix? House, Techno, DNB A few words about your mix? This is my first ever recorded mix. It’s a bit messy. I'm practicing everyday.
