EP. 1843: Filmmaker Johnny Mischief-Cancer (ROAD CALLED HOME)

Matthew Toffolo chatted with Johnny Mischief-Cancer, about his animated music video "Roll Call Home" for Jenny Wu's song, which was showcased at Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film Festival. Johnny, based in Portland, Oregon, directed and animated the entire project himself, including rotoscoping and mouth movement work, though he had to take a six-month hiatus due to the sudden death of an old bandmate. The video depicts a space journey metaphor for touring as a musician, featuring alien species (crabs) and locations like Paris and Edmonton, with Johnny working remotely with Jenny who is based in Ottawa, Canada.
