Episode 186: The Crew’s discussing one of the most overhyped films of all-time, Star Wars – Episode I: The Phantom Menace. In the summer of 1999 everyone was excited for Star Wars, and Episode One was the second highest grossing film at the time. Flash forward to today, and most fans consider it the worst installment in the franchise. Story and acting issues aside, there is a lot to love here. The pod race is jaw dropping and the climatic lightsaber battle is truly incredible. The Crew is heavily divided on this film. Correction: Episode One’s budget was $115 million, not $65 million (that was the opening weekend box-office $). Sorry for the mistake.
