from Primetime Sports Podcast

In this episode, Joey introduces a new segment called “Red Light, Yellow Light, Green Light” to give a temperature check on certain players’ chances of being moved at the 2023 MLB Trade Deadline on August 1. With the deadline looming, Joey breaks down which teams should be buyers, sellers, or are currently stuck in the middle of waiting on the results of the next ten games or so to determine whether or not they should make a playoff push. Before this segment, he provides a rundown of where three World Series teams were over the last few seasons on this date of July 21, in order to make the case that anyone can still make a run and get hot. Joey makes the argument that the Angels should try to keep Shohei Ohtani on their roster for a desperate playoff push, despite their challenging schedule following the August 1 deadline. At the end, Joey fully analyzes where the Red Sox currently stand and debates the fact that Chaim Bloom should buy at the deadline.
