Ep.19 David Booth, Director of Policy and Advocacy for Black and Pink, Inc
from Surviving The System · host The Fringe FM
http://www.survivingthesystem.orgDavid Booth is the Director of Policy & Advocacy for Black & Pink. Frequently, he uses he/him/his pronouns, but often she/her/hers and rarely they/them/their. His experiences as a formerly incarcerated genderqueer individual have propelled him towards community building, addressing marginalization, and challenging our ideas of justice. For nearly 10 years, David has advocated for inclusive reforms, which acknowledges harm while also ensuring dignity and respect for all criminalized people. He earned his dual Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Linguistics from Old Dominion University and, later, a Master’s in Public Policy from American University. http://www.survivingthesystem.orgPrior to joining Black and Pink, David joined the National LGBT/HIV Criminal Justice Working Group, founded the Sex Law and Policy Center, and, most recently, worked alongside the Hudson Pride Center. In his spare time, he can be found curled up with a good book, having a dance break, or traveling the trails.
