EP 2 - Il passato è prologo

from Crossroads - Crocevia della comunità · host CO.AS.IT. Melbourne

Angela Viora presenterà il suo prossimo incontro presso il CO.AS.IT. dal titolo What's performance art got to do with it? martedì 9 settembre dalle 6.30pm alle 8pm, al 199 Faraday Street, Carlton. _____ Episode 2: What's past is prologue In this second episode, hosted by Luca Esposito and CO.AS.IT. CEO Marco Fedi, we explore how the Italian community, in all its dynamism, pays special attention to younger generations. “What’s past is prologue”, a quote from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, reminds us that the past is nothing more than the prelude to a living present—one that knows how to tell its story, reinvent itself, and rediscover its identity. We spoke with our guest, Mariella De Paolis, creator and coordinator of the CO.AS.IT. Girotondo program: an Italian language course for preschool children (ages 3–5). Developed in line with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the program encourages children to explore the language through play, discovery, and problem solving, in a dynamic and stimulating environment. Beyond language learning, Girotondo also opens the doors to Italian culture: children take part in cooking workshops, experiencing the joy of Italian food, and celebrate traditional festivals, immersing themselves in the customs and traditions that make Italy unique. We will also hear an exclusive interview with Angela Viora, an Italian educator, scholar, and performance artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her work bridges Performance Arts, Italian language, and Education, with a focus on body–place relationships, migration, identity, language, and belonging. Angela will present her upcoming event at CO.AS.IT., titled What’s performance art got to do with it?, on Tuesday 9 September from 6.30pm to 8pm, at 199 Faraday Street, Carlton. This is a free event, but registration is required at the following link: https://www.coasit.com.au/book-presentation-angela-viora Produced, directed, and with music by Stefano Ioele. Contributors: Mariella De Paolis, Girotondo Program Coordinator Angela Viora, artist, scholar and educator - Monash University

Caravan Conversations James Tousignant When “why” is the question we are asking at 3am and life is at a crossroads it would be nice if someone would come to us with a sign from Spirit. It would be so nice to have that kind of certainty about destiny and not just live in the tides of fate. It would be comforting to know what’s expected of us, why we are here and what that calls us to do. It is a mystery, and we are called to be present with it. We are called to bring what we are best able to bring to our life. We are called to remember. As an expedition of the heart, Caravan Conversations, based on the book Caravan of Remembering by Daniel Goodenough, offers a way to ‘remember’ a deeper place inside that can then bloom in your life. There is a value in even the smallest gesture when our hearts remember. It does make a difference. Welcome to the Caravan of Remembering.
