Ep. 20. / Ori Marani is a love story turned into Georgian wines!

from Wine Ghosts · host Máté Vass

The 20th podcast episode is a truly moving one! Nino and Bastian joined me from the terrace of their Georgian winery, called Ori Marani. I was convinced that their love story alone would worth writing a book about, but their joint winemaking history has only recently begun by establishing their own winery in Nino’s homeland, in the Shida Kartli region of Georgia. Bastian, born and raised in Champagne, introduced me to his innovative winemaking techniques, to native Georgian grape varieties and to their impressive plans for the future. Georgia is one of the most exciting wine regions and I’m sure that Ori Marani’s wine ghosts are going to have true characters and reflect a sense of place in the future, too. Charging conversation with young and ambitious wine wizards looking into a bright future. So grab a glass and get inspired!
