Ep 200: Gal Costa

from Radio Menea Hosted by Verónica Bayetti Flores and Miriam Zoila Pérez

Legendary Brazilian singer Gal Costa passed away last week, leaving behind an incredible legacy of musical innovation. Along with others in the Tropicália movement of the late 1960s, they created a new genre that married traditional Brazilian rhythms with international sounds. Gal was a central voice in the tropicalimso movement, and that work laid the foundation for a career spanning over 50 years. Featuring music by Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia and Seu Jorge.
