In this episode Gary Mansfield speaks to Stacey Clare founder of the East London Strippers Collective  (@ethicalstripper) Stacey Clare is a stripper, writer, activist, theatre performer and one of the co-founding members of the ELSC. Stacey has become known as the resident Gobbess of the collective, giving public talks, writing articles and generally shouting from the rooftops about sex workers’ rights. She is the author of upcoming book ‘The Ethical Stripper’ and one half of the sell-out Edinburgh Fringe show ‘Ask A Stripper’, which she performs with her work wife and fellow stripper Gypsy Charms. Stacey travels up and down the country campaigning to support strippers and establish employment rights in the sex industry wherever she goes, as well making several media appearances including Good Morning Britain, and a TedX Talk.   Life Drawing with ELSC first launched in 2013 as a natural progression from the age-old practice of hiring professional harlots and hussies as models for art. Our class is fast paced and often involves high-octane aerial pole poses. We incorporate some more traditional life drawing with a couple 5, 10 and 15 minute poses. We also do an extremely popular part of the session where we get the model to get up-close and personal with 3 different artists for 5 minutes at a time. It is a nod to the “lap dance” and encourages a fun, mischievous mood throughout the class.
