In this episode, I explore the pervasive misinformation and disinformation propagated by governments and big corporations, while these same entities purport to protect us from falsehoods. The irony is overwhelming, as governments introduce legislation to ban so-called "disinformation" while so often being the source of inaccuracies and lies themselves. I discuss how this issue is playing out in several sectors, starting with Australia's aged care system. Despite an ageing population, government policies and trade unions are creating roadblocks that prevent much-needed overseas nurses and carers from entering the workforce. The result? A crisis in aged care that politicians claim they’re solving, but in reality, they’re exacerbating.I also talk about the recent media pile-on against Elle MacPherson, whose advocacy for alternative cancer treatments has been ridiculed. Big Pharma's financial interests are at the heart of this, and the medical profession is also complicit.
