As an entrepreneur, she founded and grew a public affairs agency, Open Channels Group (OCG+). Recently, she transformed an historic nonprofit as its CEO and President. With a broad lens into dozens of industries, she has built partnerships between companies and nonprofits to support marginalized communities. With deep expertise issues management, crisis communications, corporate social responsibility, and social impact, Veasey brings a unique perspective to board and management deliberations. As the CEO and President of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), she collaborated with her Board of Directors and the representatives of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to amplify and ultimately expand the Foundation’s impact. As an organization called upon to advance the multifaceted Black community on a global scale, Veasey led change management initiatives, historic fundraising campaigns and built a collaborative culture amongst the industry’s top leaders that drove landmark wins in the racial reckoning and unprecedented activism in 2020-2021. Her one-year tenure led to unmatched results for the Foundation: Increasing revenue from $7.3M in 2019 to $18.2M. Launching a National Racial Equity Initiative. Building the infrastructure needed to launch a $50M endowment campaign. Veasey was recognized by the City of Forth Worth as “Woman of the Year in Public Service,” and has been honored by multiple chambers of commerce and business organizations for her leadership, public service, and business savvy. From serving as a public affairs director for a Fortune 500 company to influencing local, state, and federal public policy and securing public funding for health care programs, Veasey has the vision to map out a path of success and bring together the right partners to achieve results. Her educational background includes an Executive MBA from Texas Christian University, a bachelor’s degree from the historic HBCU Paul Quinn College, and a Diversity Equality & Inclusion certification from Cornell University.
