Ep 22. $40m Charters and NASCAR's Broken Ownership Model, Singapore GP is #1, Fixing Bristol

from The Money Lap · host Parker Kligerman and Landon Cassill

Parker and Landon breakdown the business model of NASCAR, dissecting if the Charter System is turning into a speculative market bubble and if the overall business model is currently broken. They compare it to other potential investments and follow the trends of sold charters to see how charters have changed in value to other investments. They then turn their attention the Truck Series, where Matty D is left without a ride for the final three races of the year. Parker and Landon come to the realization that there are far too many spooky similarities in Parker's season to Landon's 2022 efforts. The Duo turns their attention the Cup Series, sharing the shock exits of two major Ford drivers and the idea that RFK could be the premiere Ford team in the future. Landon then sends his CV off to become a NASCAR Mexico series driver after news is shared that they are accompanying the Cup Series at the Clash at the Coliseum next year. Parker shares his excitement over the best Formula 1 race in "over a year and a half" due to the Red Bull team missing the mark all weekend, and promoting the midfield battle to the lead battle. Closing the episode off, PK and LC rapid fire through stories of being slow to win, MotoGP having potential VISA issues, TV Ratings, and how they plan to fix Bristol.  Visit Four Sigmatic for all your Coffee Needs: https://us.foursigmatic.com/products/think-starter-kit?utm_campaign=june-trial&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=Moneylap&utm_content=newsletter Visit https://www.spoilerdiecast.com/ for all your diecast needs and use code "moneylap" for 5% off and free shipping! 00:00 - Are Charters Over Inflated, Is the NASCAR Business Model Broken? 30:50 - PR Lap 31:30 - F1 Team Money Takeaway 32:55 - Truck Series News: Matty D Out, Tame Race at Bristol 35:41 - Parker is Reliving Landon's Last Season, Also had a Bad Day at Bristol 43:20 - Cup Series Recap: Hamlin Wins, Unexpected Eliminations, RFK on the Rise 52:35 - NASCAR Mexico Racing at LA Coliseum, Landon Applies for a Ride 54:35 - The Best Weekend in Formula 1 in a while! 1:01:25 - PK and LC Share Stories of Going Slower to Win 1:08:53 - MotoGP Weekend in India having VISA issues 1:09:22 - SRX and iRacing Announce Partnership 1:09:37 - TV Ratings, Fixing Bristol! 1:15:19 - Outro To get an extra dose of the Money Lap, subscribe to the best 5 minutes in motorsports, Newsletter: https://themoneylap.com/subscribe Prefer Video Podcasts?
