Ep 22. Elizabeth Short "The Black Dahlia"

This week on WDDD? Sarah tells the already well-known story of the killing of Elizabeth Short aka "The Black Dahlia". A beautiful young Bostonian woman moves to L.A. with dreams of becoming a famous starlet.  During her first 6 months in L.A. she struggles to find her place but manages to befriend a number of up-and-comers as well as some high-profile figures of the scene.  Bouncing around between friend's couches and hotels, at some point Elizabeth crosses paths with her unimaginable fate.  Her body is found naked, posed, beaten and mutilated beyond recognition.  The ensuing investigation yields lead after lead, suspect after suspect and false confession after false confession yet, all to no avail.   Suspiciously, just as the investigation is heating up, the LAPD suddenly and without warning, dismiss the prime suspect and close the case.
