Ep 22: Laneway Talks with Vince & Rob

Vince and Rob discussed the slow adoption of Laneway Red, attributing it to the time-consuming registration process. They analyzed social media performance metrics, noting that YouTube Shorts and Instagram performed well, while LinkedIn and Twitter were less effective. Vincent emphasized the importance of consistent posting and strategic use of links to avoid platform throttling. They also debated the fairness of copyright claims on YouTube, particularly in the context of Don Henley's comments. Robert shared his frustrations with publishing his book, highlighting the challenges of finding a suitable publisher. They concluded by discussing upcoming music releases and potential video projects. Vince and Rob discussed LanewayRED progress and then moved onto Social Media priority releases and what to expect from results. Dr Robert Boundy told us that he is exploring publishers for the release of his next book and a general discussion was had on the availability of outlets to sell physical books. Also discussed was sync licensing and what surrounds that area of music. Vincent and Rob decided to chat away one day about the music business in their territory and from that discussion came the idea to create a podcast about our knowledge base. Vincent from the business side of things and Rob from the education side. Vincent has a 35 year history in entertainment, and Rob has just completed his Phd in Music at the University of Adelaide. Those backgrounds will bring about some real differences in what they interpret the music business is and how it operates. Join the guys for an hour of insights into the business.
