The Rebbe advises an expectant mother to avoid abortion because it is the deliberate murder of a defenseless being. We share our pro-life commentary on this week's Torah portion, Shemini, which warns against the hazards that result from acting on self will that goes beyond the will of the Almighty. We find tragic consequences of this in virtuous and compassionate Jewish abortion advocates who believe they are helping women by violating Torah's prohibition of killing innocent unborn human life.
