The world’s largest environmental summit is being held this year in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, from November 11 to 22. Representing Tibet at COP29, environmental research fellows Dechen Palmo and Dhondup Wangmo from the Tibet Policy Institute of the Central Tibetan Administration are spotlighting critical environmental issues in Tibet under Chinese occupation. Their focus includes the alarming impacts of the Chinese government’s Derge Hydropower Dam projects on the Tibetan environment and local communities.
