Hi, this is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa's Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today's top rancho mason news brought to you by our Safety and Risk Management Network Studio One.

Welcome back everyone. Today my guest is Lauren Stump, Media Communications and Client Services Specialist with Rancho Mesa. Today we're going to discuss the California D&B Employer Pull Notice Program. Lauren, welcome to the show.

Thank you. It's Grace B. Back in the studio. For listeners who aren't familiar with the California D&B Employer Pull Notice Program, can you tell us a little bit about what the program is?

Sure, I'd be happy to. So at Rancho Mesa, we found that some employers don't know about the employer pull notice program or refer to as the EPN program or even just the pull program. The EPN program enables commercial and government organizations to monitor the driving records of employees who drive for them. This is a great program to utilize if you are an employer who is currently paying outside third parties at a high cost to deal with the D&B's EPN program is doing for a much better price.

First, what are some of the reasons why an employer would want to monitor the driving records of their employees? By monitoring their employees driving records, organizations can ensure that each driver has a valid driver's license, recognize problem drivers or driving behavior, improve public safety, and minimize liability. So you mentioned the cost effectiveness of this program. Can you provide a few more details about this and give some reasons why an employer would want to use this program?

Sure. Every year, the EPN program automatically generates and sends a driver record when any of the following actions or activities occur, such as the driver is enrolled in the EPN program. When a driver has any of the following actions or activities added to their driver records, such as convictions, failures to appear, accidents, a driver's license has been suspended or revoked, or have any other actions taken against their driving privilege. Once the employee has fully enrolled in the program in sign the agreement form, the employer will not need to ask for the employee's permission again to pull driving reports throughout the year.

Also, earlier, as I mentioned, that using third-party sites is quite costly. Some charging organizations thousands of dollars yearly. With the EPN program, it is only $5 for each enrolled driver. For accounts with 10 or fewer drivers, payment is due upon a viewing of notices.

For accounts with more than 10 drivers, the DMV will invoice monthly. And it is $1 for each annually generated report and each action or activity report. Well, that sounds like the California DMV EPN program really is the better choice for keeping track of employee's driving records. How do organizations enroll their divers in the EPN program?

Commercial employers can apply to the EPN program and manage their EPN requests and reports online. The online service has all the features of the traditional program, but saves you paper, postage, and processing time. Listeners can visit the EPN online requester through dmv.ca.gov to get started. And we'll include a link in the episode notes where employers can sign up for the EPN program.
