You want to think of selling your business from the moment you start it. Have a package that shows the buyer what they're getting. Even if you're not willing to sell, look at why people are wanting to buy you. Just because you're the only owner doesn't mean you can't have an exit strategy for unexpected circumstances. An exit strategy assure that the work you put in doesn't evaporate or implode. There are many kinds of exit strategies. You need a non-disclosure statement when attempting to sell.
